SPECIAL OFFER....Book 3 nights or more and receive a $25 gas credit off your rental

Mariposa Ridge Retreat is a ten-acre hilltop home with stunning panoramic views of the seasonal snow capped peaks in Yosemite and the quaint village below. Located just 1.5 miles outside of the historic Gold mining County seat of Mariposa, the 'Mother of California's Counties.' We are 38 miles from Yosemite National Park, and just ten minutes from the Merced River which winds along Highway 140 for 23 miles into the Park. One of the most scenic drives on the planet. Don't miss the river drive into YOSEMITE!

The home was built in 2005 and features a King Suite, a Queen bedroom and two full-size double beds in the third bedroom. There are extra twin futons & bedding. Two full baths with a double-sized soaking tub in the Master bath. There is a 500 square foot deck with six foot circular HOT SPRINGS Spa overlooking the Mariposa Valley along with picnic table with umbrella and a charcoal barbecue. The sweet clean water comes from a deep mountain well fed by year-round Sierra snowpack. Roam the ten hilltop acres along with deer and wild Sierra birds.

Bring your clothes and food (linens and towels are provided) and come home to peaceful mountain air and escape the rat race below. (Mariposa is the ONLY California County without a single Traffic Light!). PLEASE NOTE: Check-in at 3pm day of arrival and Check-out at 11 am. Be sure to visit our website for complete info.

We built Mariposa Ridge Retreat as our vacation home and have had a wonderful 7 years meeting and greeting folks from all over the world...we spend a few days each month 'getting away from' our everyday work schedule...our main home is in Santa Margarita, Ca. a few miles north of San Luis Obispo.

Steve & Susan Lach purchased this chateau / country house in 2005

We fell in love with area...it is so beautiful and peaceful.

Decompress from stress, rest, peacefulness, fresh air, serenity.

We had a wonderful time using the comforts of Mariposa Ridge Retreat as a base for our visit to Yosemite. The drive to Yosemite is about 45 minutes but enjoyable. The home has everything you will need and is quite secluded. The deck has a great view from the top of the ridge and hot tub was very welcome after hiking all day. So many stars at night! The owners are great people.

It was ok. Yosemite was beautiful. Hot tub was best feature on house. No soap for dishwasher, no charcoal for BBQ Neighbor on property was working on big rig one day. Kind of broke the serenity . No I wouldn't stay here again.

Owner's Response: We are sorry you did not call our maid whose number is clearly listed on the kitchen corkboard along with our personal cell number which would have solved your problems. We maintain a 5 star rating because we respond to our clients wishes, but we need to hear from them. Our neighbor hauls water for folks whose wells have run dry due to our severe drought. Thanks for your understanding and we are glad you enjoyed Yosemite and our hot tub.

We watched the sunset, the moon rise, the stars...on our last day we watched the sunrise and listened to the birds... we were an hour from Yosemite and 5 minutes from town which we never went to because the house was fully equipped.
Peaceful, quiet and a hot tub to relax after hours of hiking...

Owner's Response: The peaceful feeling you get on the mountain is what drew us to this place. We love it and are happy to share with other visitors.

Great Place to Stay for Yosemite

This is great place to stay if you are visiting Yosemite. It is about 45 minutes from the park and provides good access to both the west and south entrances. The 3 bedrooms all had nice beds and furniture with the rest of the house nicely furnished. There is a full kitchen, 2 full baths and a laundry room with washer and dryer. There is a very nice view of the valley and town below and can all be seen from the living room and hot tub. The town of Mariposa is about 3 minutes down the hill and provides some nice local attractions, grocery store and restaurants. The visitors center in town was very helpful in guiding us on our visit to Yosemite. The hot tub was a great way to relax our tired muscles after hiking all day. We felt it was a much better value staying in this house than in any of the local hotels.

our staying at this retreat was very pleasant. The house itself and the amenities are a little bit outdated, but for the price you pay its very ok. The hot tub is not working properly, so i would not count on spending your nights in it. The kitchen has every thing you need, but all the pans and pots are kind of old. The outside deck and the views are great, and i think that counts the most, because we did not have too much time to spend indoors. From the house to the Yosemite Valley its a 1hour and 30 min drive (and we drove fast), but its still worth it. Rooms are spacious and clean, and 6 people can easily sleep there.

Owner's Response: Hi Andra,

We are sorry you did not call us when you had a problem operating the hot tub...our maintenance people would have been right over to help you with your situation. The "Help" numbers are on your contract and clearly posted on the kitchen wall. Glad you had a good time otherwise.
