On behalf of my family I would like to thank you for our amazing week at your beautiful home. My 22 year-old son said as we walked through the house when we arrived, “Mom and dad, you ‘booking nailed it’”. It is just an amazing home and we repeatedly talked about coming back in the future. We had fairly crummy weather for the week but it didn’t really make a difference. We visited family, did lots of Maine-type stuff (Two Lights, LL Bean, Rafting, Hiking) and enjoyed just hanging out at the house. Two different nights we played “Capture the Flag” outside in the pitch dark. When is the last time you saw 8 adults (ages 22-53) running through the woods and crawling around on the ground to win a game? The ping-pong table revived old rivalries and my 12 year-old learned that she could survive without TV for a week. She said she didn’t even miss it. With a room for everyone and space to spread out, we weren’t on top of each other and therefore didn’t get in each other’s space. What great gathering spaces you’ve created with the amply sized dining area, sun room, and great room. It was so wonderful to just “be” together.
Thank you for sharing your home with us. We will definitely be back. It won’t be for a couple of years, but do you ever have the week between Christmas and New Year’s open?
Thanks for providing a venue for great family time and rejuvenation.
Cant begin to say how immensely our family ( 8 adults and 1 child) enjoyed our past weekend at Big Bear! The accomodations were gorgeous yet warm and comfortable. The attention to detail was amazing and well thought out .The house and all it offers couldnt be better for those looking to relax in this serenne location. The house was clean and everything in tip top shape- our family couldnt have been happier with all the extras- game room and hot tub in particilar! We are eagerly awaiting our next stay hopefully in the summer months!
This house is amazing. Owner was terrific to work with. We had a sibling getaway here and had the best time. What a unique place to stay, why stay in a normal house when you can stay at such an amazing log cabin home, you can tell it was made with so much love. We utilized everything, hot tub(weather was in single digits but it was great!), and many ping pong tourneys. I can’t thank you enough for letting us rent your home for our sibling getaway, we hope to return next year!!
The place was great. 5 kids and 4 adults had no problem fitting comfortably. Immaculately clean. Everything was as advertised. I look forward to coming back. Entire family had a blast.
This beautiful log home is filled with integrity of detail and warmth of character and comfort, setting the stage for memories of a lifetime . Meals in the back room with views to the woods easily accommodated ALL of us - seating for 14! The breakfast nook was a poplar spot to gather with views to the squirrels and chickadees. The kitchen was well stocked with all gadgets and utensils with dinnerware that completes the bear | moose theme.
The energy star rating speaks to the attention to detail and despite the cold temps outside, the large volume of space was warm and comfortable for all. The three stories allowed generous opportunity for all to do their own thing without impact to the main group... Including teenagers who enjoyed the lower den til wee hours.
The setting is serene and the welcome of holiday lights was perfect. Walks in the woods were natural and immediate to the property. A few enjoyed the Hot Tub out back with views to the winter night sky.
Brays Brew pub in Naples was perfect soot to watch the Patriots game and umbrella factory was very convenient for groceries and last minute Yankee swap gifts (lobster). Had hoped to visit High View farm for sleigh ride but snow was limited.
Big Bear was the perfect setting for our three family holiday reunion. Thank you
I rented Big Bear Cabin for Christmas this year, for my family and my in-laws. It was always a dream of mine to stay in a cabin during Christmas. This was literally a dream come true. The pictures do no justice, its much more jaw dropping in person. Myself, my husband, my 4 kids (10, 7, 3 & 18 months) and my in-laws arrived at the cabin around 6pm (it was dark) and all we saw were the beautiful Christmas lights they had up. My father-in-law was convinced that we had the wrong place and that someone had to be living here (and that was just by looking at the outside). As soon as we walked in there was a big beautiful Christmas tree all lit up in the corner of the living room, 2 smaller trees on the fireplace, tons of cute snowmen lining the staircase and loft area. There was Christmas decor around the whole cabin. Not only did I love the Christmas decor, but the everyday decor that they had was beautiful as well. The kitchen is very spacious and has all the pots and pans you could need. They have a crock pot, a huge pot for lobsters, various cooking utensils and griddle with a bacon press perfect for bacon. The kitchen is fully stocked and I loved cooking in it. We loved sitting in the dining area and looking out into the wilderness as we ate. The kids and adults all loved the arcade/entertainment room. We all especially loved the reading room off of the side of the kitchen. We spent a lot of time in there watching the birds and squirrels eating the bird/deer food they had put out. BTW the really fat squirrel that hangs upside down on the bird feeder we named Guido, because being Italian I can spot an Italian who loves to eat no matter what the species LOL. While we were there the weather was warmer than normal so we did some sledding down the driveway and even took a nice walk into the woods to the river. The bedrooms were all beautiful and comfy to sleep in. I enjoyed the master bathroom. The hot tub is so nice at night when all the stars are out and all you see is them and the tops of the trees. My husband and I were reading all of the articles they have hanging up about the cabin. We also read the story Anthony typed up about the building of the cabin and we not only found it interesting but we could tell there was so much love and care that went into the construction. Anthony was great to talk to and we thank him and his family so much for allowing us into their home. We will definitely be back soon!!
