Sticky End is located in the conservation village of Cottesmore in England's smallest county, Rutland, a truly unspoiled rural gem in the heart of Middle England. Rutland Water, along with the surrounding countryside & villages, provide a beautiful back drop for sailing, water sports, fishing, cycling, bird watching, golf & walking. Sticky End is an ideal base for exploring the region including the nearby busy market & impressive public school towns of Oakham and Uppingham, and is only 10 miles from historic Stamford. Traditional country pubs, stately homes such as Belvoir Castle, magnificent Burghley House (home of the Burghley Horse Trials) & National Trust properties including Belton House are within a short drive, whilst local shopping is refreshingly 'unique & antique'.

Charming market towns Oakham & Uppingham, are the only towns in England's smallest county. Oakham hosts its own summer festival. Melton Mowbray including its renowned Pork Pie shop lies just to the north. Rutland Water, an important nature reserve, serves as an over-wintering site for wildfowl & an Osprey breeding site. Hire bicycles and cycle round this beauty spot! Stamford, a beautiful historic town has marvellous shops & on its outskirts boasts the jewel of Burghley House home to the Burghley Horse Trials. Oft a film location including 2005 movie Pride & Prejudice and TV's Middlemarch. The Stamford Shakespeare Festival is held annually at Tolethorpe Hall in an atmospheric open air theatre. Rockingham Motor Speedway & Rockingham Castle lie just 25 minutes south. Stunning Belvoir Castle (a Da Vinci Code film location) stands splendidly in the Vale of Belvoir just 25 minutes drive to the north. Historic Cambridge is within a 1 hour drive to the south.
