Idyllic,tranquillity

  • 5 of 5
Just returned from a spectacular and very restful short break At le grangeau, The gite and grounds are charming all I can say is wow! Within the grounds there is a fantastically maintained and secluded swimming pool area alongside this there is also a badminton court and football area. le grangeau has a private meadow which picture perfect and peaceful. The owners Mark and Maggie were wonderfully helpful without being intrusive and nothing was too much trouble.
the village itself is a short walk from le grangeau and is a tranquil step back in time, we also paid a visit to Brive worth a visit for chic boutiques ect.
I cannot express how very relaxed we both felt after just a short 4 day break and will definitely be returning as this place is a gem must Recommend!

Owner's Response: We are so pleased to see guests relaxed after their time here.Usually we let the gite weekly but at the beginning or end of the season we offer shorter breaks. The medieval village is just a short walk away and guests are able to buy bread, go for a coffee or a meal-some of our guests just like to enjoy the tranquil surroundings here.

Peace and quiet

  • 5 of 5
The owners Mark and Maggie are warm and friendly willing to answer any queries or problems and offer advice on places to visit. The gardens and swimming pool immediately surrounding the Gite are seperated by hedges affording privacy to swim, eat and enjoy a barbeque with a wide open space for the children to play football badminton and volley ball. The village Segur Le Chateau is a ten minute picturesque walk through the garden, down the hill where you can buy fresh bread daily and enjoy a weekly Monday fair with music, food, and dancing. The Gite itself was a large rambling farm house ,back from the road, which fitted our family and guests comfortably. Though I found the holiday ,quiet and relaxing, there are opportunities to visit Pompadour if you like horse racing, the caves, and Rouffiac lake beach for a swim though you'd need a car. We have already booked to return next year!

Wow! Wow! Wow! An amazing place to stay.

  • 5 of 5
We have just returned from a week away at Le Grangeau. All we can say is WOW! From the moment we arrived Mark and Marguerite we very welcoming. The farmhouse is beautiful. We were a family of 7 ( 4 adults, 3 children ) and the accommodation offers plenty of room. The grounds are absolutely stunning from the extremely well kept pool area ( which Mark cleans every morning ) to the paddock where we all played endless badminton and footy matches. There is also a beautiful meadow with little grass pathways for you to walk around or just sit quietly under the trees. Behind the swimming pool there is a little area growing raspberries which my daughter enjoyed picking. There are lots of little secret pathways and gates to discover. The main town of Segur le chateau is a short walk from the farmhouse. It is a medieval town and has a fab farmers market every Monday in July and August. You can take your own picnic or buy food there. Great atmosphere. We also visited Gimel les Cascades ( waterfall) , Rocamadour ( village in the rocks ) and Gouffe de Padirac ( caves ) We would highly recommend Le Grangeau and will definately be returning. Thanks again Mark and Marguerite for sharing your beautiful home with us.

Owner's Response: Thank you Sarah and Akram, what a wonderful review. Yes a lot of hard work, but makes it well worthwhile when our guests have such an enjoyable and relaxing time. Le Grangeau is a beautiful place and Segur le Chateau is a stunning medieval village. We look forward to welcoming you and all the family again to Le Grangeau.

Wonderful relaxing holiday

  • 5 of 5
We stayed here for 2 weeks at the end of June. It is a beautiful farmhouse, full of old charm. Mark and Marguerite are perfect hosts, always available if you need them but at the same time respecting your privacy. The grounds and pool are immaculate and Mark and Marguerite work very hard to keep them that way. Segur Le Chateau, a very pretty village, is only short walk, with a good restaurant and snack bar. There is plenty to do and see in the area, but if you just want to relax and unwind this is the place to do it. Thank you for a great holiday.

Owner's Response: Thankyou for a lovely review. It is always good to have guests returning again, especially after 10 years. Privacy for guests is very important to us and a lot of unobtrusive effort is put into maintaining the grounds and the recently refurbished farmhouse. Le Grangeau has a lot to offer and when guests leave relaxed and happy, it shows that our property and this wonderful part of France has worked its charm again.

Ein wunderschönes romantisches Landhaus im Correze

  • 5 of 5
