Overview

Angel Fire Condo Rental Photos and Description

1 private bedroom, 1 loft bedroom, 2 full bathrooms, sleeps 6 in beds

This dream condominium is located in the heart of the Angel Fire ski resort area. Our two bedroom, two bath condo is located one block from the ski lifts, in the Racquet Club Commons Condominiums. It will sleep 6 in beds and 2 additional.

LOCATION makes it extremely accessible to the slopes, and it is an easy walk back and forth for lunch, or maybe a mid afternoon nap!!! A short 5 minute walk gets you to the high speed “Chili Express” lift and up to the top of the mountain. The Angel Fire ski area is extremely family friendly with ski/snowboarding schools, tubing, NIGHT SKIING/BOARDING and a variety of runs to accommodate the beginners to the most advanced and adventurous of skiers. This ski resort also has more than one terrain park for the snowboarders of the group. Ski/snowboard rentals are available at a variety of locations in the resort area. Cross country skiers and snow shoe enthusiasts can enjoy a number of trails with different experience levels.

If you have never been to Angel Fire, you are in for a real treat. Situated at 8,600 feet, the climate is perfect. The temperatures are mild enough to ski comfortably in the winter/spring and yet cool enough in the summer months to enjoy being outside as much as you like. Angel Fire rarely sees temperatures above 80 degrees so there is no need for air conditioning, just open a couple of windows and let the clean, fresh air in.

The many features of the new Angel Fire Resort Golf & Country Club include a full-service golf shop with an on-staff PGA pro instructor; indoor/outdoor meeting/event space; a modern fitness center with yoga room; a private wine room with storage for over 2,200 bottles; upstairs fine dining restaurant and upscale bar, Elements; a downstairs Country Club Grill offering lighter-fare and patio dining; an indoor swimming pool, well appointed men’s and women’s locker room and more. If you are a golfer, the Angel Fire Golf Course is also a short, 1.5 mile drive aw

In the off season from skiing, Angel Fire often plays host to X-games style mountain biking competitions. The average mountain biker can take their bikes up the lift and ride down the mountain on hundreds of bike trails. This coupled with multiple art festivals, concerts and a local population that loves to see people come to the valley makes Angel Fire the perfect getaway for the entire family.

If you like fishing, this is the place to be. Eagle Nest lake is about five miles away and is full of trout, Kokanee Salmon, yellow perch and even a few unwelcome pike. If you prefer streams, drive about five more miles and fish for trout in the Cimarron River or head 25 minutes over to Taos to fish one of the many streams in that region or take in some White Water Rafting!

Conveniently located; Angel Fire is 15 hours from Phoenix, 10 hours from Dallas/Ft. Worth, 10 from Oklahoma City, 6 from Lubbock, 6 hours from El Paso, 5 from Amarillo or Denver and 3 from Albuquerque. Fly into Albuquerque and enjoy the scenic drive up to Angel Fire!

No matter the season; summer, winter, spring or fall, another thing you can always count on at Angel Fire is GREAT VIEWS and TREMENDOUS AMOUNTS OF WILDLIFE. The views and sunsets are truly spectacular. As for the wildlife, it is not uncommon to see several hundred elk and a few herds of mule deer as you make a quick drive around Angel Fire. You might even catch a glimpse of a black bear, mountain lion or bobcat. Bald Eagles, Hawks and other birds of prey are also common in the area, especially around Eagle Nest Lake.

Regardless of what you are looking for, you will find it in Angel FIre. Come stay at our cozy little condo and enjoy the mountains that we love so much!

Thank you for viewing our home away from home!

Guestbook comments from the owner

Rob and Paula,

Thank you so much for sharing your home with our family. Our grown children, as well as the little ones, thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was so refreshing to get away and not too far to drive. The valley was so nice and green and there was so much to do. Your home has all the modern conveniences in a cabin like atmosphere. It was tempting to build a fire in the beautiful stone fireplace with the huge Elk hanging above it. We cannot wait until our next family get away. Maybe we can enjoy some time in the fall. We will definately stay with you again!

Great trip!

  • 5 of 5
Angel Fire is fantastic in the summer and so is this condo! It has many conveniences of home - the kitchen had all the tools we needed, there was plenty of kitchen and laundry soap/supplies, and the bathrooms were even stocked with shampoo/conditioner. My favorite part may be all the hooks and places to keep you "vacation mess" more organized. My kids loved the loft (despite a few bonked heads with the low ceiling) and it was nice for them to have some space of their own. We were out on hiking and activities the majority of the time, but the condo was a great place to come back to in the evening to recharge for the next day!

Mixed Review

  • 4 of 5
My review it two part. I will tell you everything I enjoyed about the condo and what I didn't appreciate about the condo.

I'll start with the good.

The owners of the condo are very nice and quick to respond. He met me in Santa Fe with the keys and was very friendly. When we got to the condo it was nice and comfy (however it's on the 3rd floor so pack light). It seems to be well taken care of for the age of it. It was 3 adults staying there and I felt it was roomy enough for all. They have all the appliances and etc to have an enjoyable stay. The condo is truly around the corner from the mountain which was fantastic.

Now...the not so good

After I met with the owner to get the key I also got a package of paper. It has maps, things to do and 'General Info". Within the info it starts stating all the things we needed to do as guest. I was a bit turned off to say the least. The package they give you AFTER you sign your contract is that basically you do all the cleaning yourself. For myself, that does not equal vacation. They want you to strip the beds, both upstairs and downstairs and put them in downstairs tub, clean the refrigerator out (that I get), take the trash out to the dumpster (seriously??), load the dishwasher (really??) and clean out the fireplace (blew my mind). After I read this in the booklet I was very turned off. We are by no means slobs but I expect the cleaning crew to do all the of the above since we paid a cleaning fee. When we vacation we don't want to do chores before leaving. I understand not leaving the place is disarray but I felt what they asked was a little too much being we paid someone to come and clean for us.

I've never used HomeAway and maybe this is protocol but I just wanted to mention the good with the bad.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your feedback, it is truly appreciated. These asks of our guests were in place due to our cleaning services being a bit sporadic in availability and timing upon check-out.
In order to be more accomodating to our guests, we have modified the instructions and are no longer asking that the guests provide "Pre-cleaning" services. Understandably, you are on vacation and we truly want you to relax and enjoy your time in the mountains!
Thanks again and we apologize for the inconvenience.

Sincerely,
~ Rob & Paula

What a gorgeous condo. Beautiful views, charming town, great wildlife. We enjoyed our stay so much. The condo has all the comforts of home. Beautiful stone fireplace, refrigerator, stove and dishwasher. Eagels Nest and Red River are not far away. Great for a day trip. The Enchanted Circle drive is breathtaking. So much to do! This condo is great for a romantic or family getaway. We can't wait to stay here again. Thanks!
