Diamond Lake is located in the Center of Newaygo County. This Lake has Historical Lineage Dating back to the Algonquin Indian Nations. Historical Battle Fields were reported by the first French Settlers. Indian artifacts surface each season as Farmers roll the soil for new crops. Surveyors and Engineers find relics from Spanish Explorers dating to the 1600's.

It is known that the Original Foundation of the Eagle's Nest was constructed on the lower bank within the deep sand. Within feet of this home was a natural artesian well that flowed crystal clear spring water year round.
