Cabin was not what we expected. Trash and leaves everywhere and the hottub didn't work.Trash in the inside trash can too, Furniture some old and really worn. Emailed and called the owner several times and no response. Even contacted the emergency phone number and left a message need less to stay we left out of here in a few short hours. The roads in and out of here are terrible and GPS was so confused too finding the place took you a while too. Won't ever return to this place and if the owner wants rentals they need to do better than this.
Owner's Response: We are truly sorry your stay was not more enjoyable. Our housekeeper was notified to check immediately for any trash in and around our cabin, and she informed us that there was a little bit of trash below the cabin from when a bear had likely gotten into some of the neighbors' trash, but she did not see any noticeable trash on our property. If there was, we do apologize, and we do all we can to ensure the cabin is in tip-top shape when all of our guests arrive. Sometimes the area wildlife (Bears, raccoons, etc.) spreads food scraps and bits of trash around to other cabins and natural areas in the neighborhood, but usually not enough to make this a nuisance. As far as leaves go, there is not much we can do about those unfortunately. We are on a wooded mountaintop and it is autumn. Most of our guests enjoy the beautiful leaves during this time of the year. We always provide each guest with detailed directions to the cabin several days prior to their visit, which include the easiest and shortest route to the cabin (which is not the route that typical GPS systems will take you). We've had many visitors to our cabin over the years, and I don't believe any have had trouble finding our cabin before, since we do provide directions, and it is in a well known and easily accessible sub-division as well (Settlers Ridge). My housekeeper also checked the hot tub and indicated that it was working just fine, so we're not sure exactly what the problem was there. We do sincerely apologize that you did not find the cabin or the other amenities to your satisfaction, we want all of our guests to have a wonderful experience at the cabin, and most everyone does. We take great pride in ensuring that our cabin is clean, safe and functional in every way. We understand if you would not want to return on a future visit, but if you change your mind, we would be willing to offer you a discount, as we'd like your experience with our cabin to end on a positive note if possible.
