MOUNTAIN SPORTS: Mountain biking is an especially popular sport around the valleys and mountains of Salzburg. Summer lifts can take you and your bike to the top of a mountain to either take the sensible route down or to follow the downhill circuits used by the World Cup circuit. The area is also famed for its road cycling routes as Salzburg also held the World Championships in 2006. Cycles can be hired locally along with cycle tours for intermediate level and above. The Adventure Centre Flachau offer fully guided and qualified instruction in all kinds of mountain adrenaline pumped activities. The centre is for people of all ages and offers family activities or singular activities.
