Welcome to Huckleberry Heaven You'll think you died and went to Huckleberry. With the beautiful location and great success of our Homeaway property 169446 we have purchased and remodeled 'Log cabin Style' another private stand alone property in the same area. Cabin sets on a very quiet and peaceful 2 acres. If you are looking to come to Western Carolina mountains to experience creeks, small waterfalls, mountains, and or gem mining you have found your desination. That is what we are about, the true Carolina experience. Property is a hikers paradise great way to get to the deck falls areas. Creek is across the street and there are private trails that span over 50 acres, the other side of creek is all national forest. We have creekside grills, decks, picnic table, chairs, and even a creekside hammock to relax and enjoy . Safari like trails include laurel tunnels & small bridges. Come, leave your worrys behind, and connect with nature. New for 2014 we are building our own gem mine just for our guest

Rental type: This is not a row cabin it is a stand alone private property, It has an 8x10 front deck with a quiet forest (not mountain) view. As mentioned it is a doublewide/modular that has new wood interior walls thru kitchen, living area and master bedroom to give the mountain cabin feel. The real value in this rental is in the private 10 acres of beautiful creek access and the Carolina mountain experience. This is not the Hilton and we do not issue refunds. We just added a new leather sofa and love seat . All linens and kitchen set ups are mid grade and were purchased new this year. It has a centrally located brand new 12K btu window AC and ceiling fans in the living and master bedroom, central gas heat and a wood burning fire place. It has a professionally cleaned short berber carpet thru out except the kitchen. There is a narrow trail that leads up to a sitting area on the cabins property that does have a power co. cleared mountain view (pictured),from here creek can be heard but not seen
Creek picnic area is a must: If your looking for a private way to get outdoors and experience what this area has to offer that's where we shine. There are two areas to choose from both have over 10 acres of creek frontage. The private area for this cabin is approx. 1/2 mile up the gravel road. There is a place to park and take a short hike down to the creek or you can use the provided 4 wheeler (slow adult driving only) and cruise right up to the Berry's grill picnic area. Including table, hammock, xtra chairs, and sideways tree. Or take the the split trail to the upper end where there are more small falls with laurel tunnel paths and beautiful huge boulders. Across the creek is all national forest that you can hike and find 30ft and larger tiered falls up stream. There are hiking trails along the creek and we encourage creating more as you explore. The other area has a 4 wheeler/hiking trail just below the cabin that leads to a falls/deck area that is shared with property 169446 (Pictures) and they have 1st dibbs
Just turn 50 my father has always had the knack for finding beautiful properties (Nature Waterfront).
For the price of a motel room you can be in and experience One of WNCs most beautiful areas Franklins Cowee Valley. Have a private creek deck, gem mine, zip line 4 wheeler (small fee) with your family and friends.
we have our own gem mine trough and creekside grills This is not a row cabin private and now over 1 mile of creek frontage including huckleberry Beech, with Stu drop deck and Hucks Hammock, or hike or ride up to Little Huckle run and Falls deck all with fire pits and seating. This is a unique experience
My family and I just returned today. We were most impressed with Troy and his son and the care they took of us. They brought the 4 wheeler to us and took us on a detailed tour of the creek and all of the stops along the trails. As stated in the description, we were not looking for the Hilton but a nice quiet peaceful vacation away from our busy lives. Also, we left a couple of items and we contacted Troy who is sending them to us and that is greatly appreciated. The only suggestion, not a criticism, is possibly a house phone for emergencies due to there being no cell service on the mountain (which was really a blessing for us). If you want to get away from the world and spend quality time with your family, this is the place to go.
I know that I utilize reviews when looking for a vacation rental. With that being said I always try to leave fair and honest reviews. My husband and I really enjoyed our stay in the area. We thought the free coffee mug was a very thoughtful touch! The trailer is located off a private forest service dirt road. We enjoyed the fire pit and the overall peacefulness of the location. If you rent this place you should be renting it for the location. I have to agree with a previous reviewer when I say the rental is not exactly as advertised. Two things in particular, there is reference in the listing to a professionally cleaned berber carpet throughout. The carpet was in very, very bad shape. In fact one of the bedrooms had several cigarette burns in the carpet. Overall it was very stained. (But honestly that didn't bother me - it was just not a real accurate portrayal.) The other thing that I was looking forward to was the four wheeler. There was not one. (Maybe I read the listing wrong?) I also wished they had curtains or blinds in the living room windows. But honestly, the biggest thing that would keep us from returning would have to be the smell. It has a moldy, musty type smell. I'm sure the owners are aware of it as they have numerous air fresheners at every turn. (But they don't help.) When we got home and took our clothes out of our bag they reeked of the odd smell. I really wish I could give this one a better review but even for a budget cabin I'm not sure of the value.
We had a GREAT stay at this cabin. It had everything that my family of 5 needed, and was just the right size. My 3 sons enjoyed roasting marshmallows around the fire at night, and were happy to have their own room to sleep in at night.
The BEST part of the cabin wasn't inside, however, it was outside! The trails are awesome: so quiet, and picturesque. Take the time to hike (or ride the ATV) to the private picnic area by the creek, the laurel tunnel, and the waterfall. SO wonderful!
The boys are already asking when we can go back! We are planning to stay a week next summer, that way the boys can splash in the creek and pan for gold. All in all, a wonderful getaway at a wonderful price! Thanks so much for your hospitality, Mike!!
The description of this property is not entirely accurate. While set in a pristine environment, we noticed a list of problems within the first day of staying there. When we walked in we noticed an unpleasant odor and were disappointed with the general lack of cleanliness. Specifically, there were a lot of mouse droppings in the cupboards and even on the floor. While we were there my husband caught 2 mice with traps that we bought. Also, the ceiling leaked when it rained and there were 2 large black mold spots on the ceiling near the fireplace. We were pleased with how remote and peaceful the location was and enjoyed playing in the tiny creek and having fires in the firepit. However, the 4 wheeler had a dead battery so we were unable to use it to access the creek, which requires quite a steep hike and is surrounded by poison ivy. Not a terrible place, but not quite as described and we would not stay there again.
My friends and I rented this great 3bdrm home, very clean, and had wonderful view to enjoy. You can take the four wheeler or take walks on the trails. Don't miss out it's an amazing place. Thanks so much Mike!!! We will be coming back.
