There is a choice of walking and mountain bike trails, this is a fantastic environment for cycling, the terrain is very hilly and requires a degree of determination and a fair level of fitness, if horses or pony trekking are your thing there are hundreds of stables to choose from in the immediate area. While on the water there is fishing, canoeing, kayaking. All within 2-20 mins drive. Close by is La valle de la sur Soullevre where you can try bungie jumping if you’re brave enough.

St. Lo. 8 k. north offers many places of interest. and is famous for its connection with horses, it boasts the internationaly renowned Harras. Where in August are held many events.

In the surrounding area at every turn there is an interesting farm or museum, artisanal cheese or cider maker. This is an ideal base for visiting the D-Day landing beaches, and their associated museums and cemeteries. We are less than 10 mins drive to all major routes North to South, East to West, All our guests have commented on the ease of access to a multitude of places of interest, but especially the landing beaches. Whilst still enjoying the quiet countryside murmurings. Granville a beautiful seaport with extensive market + superior shopping venue, half an hours drive, as is St. Mere Eglise (where a WW 2 parachutist landed on the church steeple) they still carry out the ritual of shooting it down every year. Forrage in the forest at Cerrisy or visit the Chateau Balleroy that borders it, 20mins drive.Golf courses, fishing lakes in abundance.

Set in the quiet verdant countryside of Normandie, this beautifully restored farmhouse has been furnished in a mixture of antique and modern styles. All the bedrooms feature en-suite bath and or hydro-massage shower rooms, whilst the designer kitchen again reflects the owners' great attention to detail. The conservatory and veranda overlooks the pretty fenced pond and rockery. Three minutes drive from Conde Sur Vire, bars, restaurants, kayak centre, where you can try rock wall climbing, crazy golf, or just messing about in boats. Horseriding, cycling/walking, visit Bayeux, Granville (Dior Museum), Le Mont St Michel or shop at Caen or bathe on the unexpected and beautiful fine white sand beaches. Port en Bessin Huppian an enchanting seaside village redolent of the Cornish coast line. Coursuelle Sur Mer bustling sea side venue with casino and large campsite.Arromanches lies midway between these two attractions.Deauville (horse racing) and Honfleur all is original art and food to die for

Outside -

Our garden is a veritable sun trap at any time of day, as it charts its course from the east over the gravel garden to the west where the lawns are laid an ideal place for setting out games or a paddling pool. With terraces to the front and back of the house where guests can take advantage of the sunshine at any time of day We supply tables, chairs umbrella's, bar b q if you fancy one in the evening (just supply your own fuel) and the corkscrew and glasses are there just waiting for you. We carry a large No. of visitor attraction leaflets so you can plan the day ahead over a glass of wine whilst you relax on the veranda or watch the sun setting. A donkey is kept in a neigbouring field. We experience a wide variety of wild life at various times of the year, hares,butterflies,huming birds,frogs toads that beep,dragon flies,a barn owl,jays,wrens,ptarmigan. A resident Moor Hen produces a clutch 6 chicks in summer,most enchanting.

The dining room is linked to the conservatory through French windows and seats 8 people comfortably and overlooks the pond, where you can enjoy watching the multitude of wildlife and watch the fish jumping. From the conservatory you can enter the large well designed kitchen through French windows and again, access to the living room from the kitchen. There are varying levels throughout the ground floor by one step

Payment to be made by bank transfer. A non-refundable deposit of 35% is payable when booking. The balance to reach my bank account four weeks prior to the commencement of your holiday term. You will receive a preliminary booking notification with bank details and advised of the date for your balance of payment. Once this has been confirmed all necessary information including further bank details, the address and local directions to Hirondelle House, and our terms and conditions will be sent via email and contained in the body of the booking contract.

Giverny about 2+1/2 hrs drive, Granville, beautiful beaches and the Dior museum, excellent shopping area, many art galleries is 1/2 hrs drive, D.Day beaches 3/4 - 1 hrs. with zoo's and many children's attractions,artisanal cheese and cider makers, often executed in the old fashioned way, most intriguing, to mention but a few. Caen, Bayeaux THE Tapestry. Torigni sur Vire, beautiful and vibrant market town with lakes and a childs adventure playground at it's centre, great for a picnic. Good Tourist Office too. ST.LO interesting cosmopolitan town the administrative centre of Manche which boasts excellent clothes and interior design shops. Almost flattened in the war it is the pheonix of the North. The German high command was stationed in the centre on a pivotal high point, ergo the destruction was far reaching but the building survived, no current access to it though. The internationally renowned Harras is here too
