Welcome to our beautiful executive home on the sunny Kona Coast! The views are spectacular from any of the 5 lanais! This home was the personal residence of the architect who designed and built it. The house is spacious with over 2000SF laid out with large comfortable open rooms. There are too many features to cover them all, but you will love every minute of your stay here. The setting is quiet, private, and peaceful - perfect for your romantic stay in Paradise.
The house sits on a 1/2 acre that is a tropical garden of flowering trees and shrubs. Fruit trees include papaya, grapefruit, orange, avocado, lychee, and lots of macadamia nut trees. There are skylights throughout the home that, along with the vaulted ceilings, make this house sunny and open. Enjoy your morning Kona coffee out on the dining room lanai next to our beautiful rock waterfall and koi pond. The unobstructed ocean and coastline views from the covered living room and master bedroom lanais are spectacular!
The master bedroom wing is a sanctuary. Windows all around make the space light and airy. It has its own lanai facing the ocean and is perfect for reading, listening to music, or taking a nap. You won't believe the bathroom suite. It has a large tiled walk in shower stall with glass walls and door, plus a separate jetted soaking tub, and vanity. There are 2 private toilet rooms - one with its own vanity, and the other has a skylight and laundry chute. There is also a roomy walk-in closet.
Downstairs is the second bedroom with its own sunny lanai. There is a spacious full bathroom, and a large laundry room. The family sitting room has a sleeper sofa and a love seat to visit, nap, or watch TV. Sliding glass doors open to a lanai and out to the large tropical yard.
We don't want you to miss out on any of the many great restaurants in Kona, but dining at the house will be a treat. The gourmet kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need for making a snack or feeding a family gathering. There is a radiant cooktop, convection microwave and wallovens, side-by-side refrigerator with icemaker, dishwasher, and all of the countertop appliances. Dine at the beautiful teak dining room table or out on any of the lanais.

We have been visiting the islands for almost 40 years, often for many months at a time. Of them all, the Big Island offers the most space and diversity. The Kona Coast is the best place with perfect weather year round and lots to do. We look forward to our future retirement when we can be in Kona all of the time.
There is nothing better than walking out of the house in the morning and picking a ripe papaya or grapefruit for breakfast. Then sitting out on the lanai next to the bubbling waterfall drinking my coffee while watching the fish in the pond is true bliss.
What an absolutely gorgeous house! Congratulations on your purchase of such a beautiful place. We truly enjoyed our stay over the holidays. We had invited our family from the area for Christmas day, and everyone oohed and ahhed over the home. The view is unbelievable without a house, power line, or telephone pole to take away from it. It was so peaceful and quiet all of the time. My favorite was to sit out on the lanai next to the dining room in the morning, drink my coffee, and listen to the waterfall. My husband loved sitting out on the master bedroom lanai reading a book and watching the airplanes down at the airport. Thank you for having everything we needed in the house, even stuff for going to the beach. We can't wait to come back again and are already telling all of our friends about your vacation rental.
Unique home with beautiful design and layout. Good location if you want to be in a quiet residential
neighborhood with the ocean in view - but rather far away. Handy to the northwest coast of Hawaii
with A-Plus beaches and where the upscale hotels are located, and the roads go to special places such as Pololu Lookout, or to the little town of Kawaihae with it's Cafe Pesto restaurant (great unusual menu), or a glorious ride thru the Parker Ranch property while the sun shines off the Pacific below you. The town of Kailua-Kona and Kealakekua are not so close by. House is very near the airport. The house was
actually more than we needed - would be good for a family or two couples.
The few things I would comment on which could be improved would be the decor of the master
bedroom - needs some sprucing up - and perhaps some new linens and throw rugs for the master
bath. I'm sure the tropical air makes it difficult to keep up with the shower stall mildew but, since
there is a cleaning crew, I would expect that to be a non-issue for renters - although there was
mildew present. There also was an ant problem in the kitchen even though we refrigerated
everything we brought in that was open or sweet. Know that's a typical problem in Paradise too, but
renters should be aware of that possibility.
This is a belated review since it has been 8 months since we were in Hawaii so some of these things may have changed. The owner was prompt and pleasant to deal with even though he lives in Alaska.
The location was great, really nice for getting a feel for the local community. Also an excellent choice if you're budget-conscious. Not only are you effectively getting 3 bedrooms for the price of two, but being on the north side of Kailua is great for affordable shopping at Target (most food) and Coscto ($4.99 roast chicken and cheap gas), as well as lots of free beach access. The place has plenty of lovely outdoor areas: we spent mornings by the koi pond watching the birds, fish, and geckos, and evenings on the lanai watching the sunsets and the local fauna passing thru. It has a spacious feel and seems to have been designed with a lot of consideration for natural light and air flow, and the decor is homey without feeling cluttered. The facilities include wi-fi, board games, and guide books, along with water sports equipment downstairs. Very nice master suite, and a roomy downstairs area suitable for a group of four. Superior kitchen and dining facilities. The owner is personable and responsive, and there is even a very nice neighbor who delivers her own locally made desserts. Does it get better?
My husband and I rented this house for 9 nights. We were looking for a quiet place for both of us to recharge our energy as we live and work in Kabul/Afghanistan. Our stay exceeded our expectations. We had read all the reviews before booking the house, but when we entered, we knew we had found the "place we needed". The house is absolutely unique, beautiful. Each room has many windows, lot's of light, and views be on teh ocean or a beautiful secluded garden with a small pool. Everything is there to make your life easy! We appreciated the full kitchen as we could cook fresh fish every night. (there is a great fish market by the boat marina called Bite Me).
We also appreciated choosing the lanai where we had our meals, at times by the quiet garden, others on the lanai with a great view of the ocean.
We could drive to the closest beach (10 mns drive) and see turtles. We also appreciated having access to the snorkel equipment, the beach chairs and umbrella.
Everyday we could easily explore Hawaii and then returned and be quiet and relaxed. We in fact many days chose to stay and had a late start as the house is so comfortable! The house also has an amazing garden with fruit trees and orchids. We just hope that soon we can come back as we had such an amazing stay. Thank you for sharing your home.
This property was perfect in every way! Definately could sleep 6 people easily. I have never seen a kitchen so well equipt in a vacation home. They thought of everything. Also there was a closet full of snorkel gear, beach towels, and boogie boards....like I said they thought of everything. The sunsets in the evenig on the lanai were amazing! This home definately makes your dream vacation come true!!!!! We enjoyed snorkel in at Catain Cook's monument as well as sveral beaches along the kona coast. We drove to see the observatory. We hiked around the rim of Kiluea. We visited the botanical gardens and so much more!
Perfect place for four in a quiet neighborhood away from the din of downtown! We couldn't have been happier. You do get what you see in the photos--a great house! Kathy, the care taker, does a great job with the place, bringing fresh fruit off the trees out back when it's ready and mac nuts are everywhere, ready for cracking, offering help with anything asked. Cole was wonderfully helpful, too, before we arrived, as well as during and after.
We had great food everywhere we ate, esp. the catch of the day. We loved Ray's on the Bay at the Sheraton Hotel (reservations highly recommended)--get a table at the railing for the best viewing of the manta rays feeding at night--if you don't want to swim with them! We like funky--and 'Bite Me' at the boat harbor is a fun place to start. Jackie Rey's is great, too. And people everywhere were so friendly and helpful. There's a street fair on Ali'i Drive twice a month which is wonderful--music, food, crafts, hula exhibitions--GREAT fun! Do try apple bananas--they're wonderful, and by all means, go get some donkey balls!
Absolutely terrific home in terrific neighborhood, it made our family's (wife and 3 kids) first visit to Hawaii a wonderful memory. The description understates the location .. Very luxurious, clean, modern, well-equipped with terrific kitchen, nice bedrooms and beautiful master bathroom. We really felt like we had never even left home. Beautiful garden landscape. Fast wi-fi made planning easy on lap-top. Kathy who lived on-site was very helpful and kind. Peaceful, serene, yet near Target or Costco in Kailua-Kona (15 min drive) and KOA airport (10 min) so no time wasted driving all over. Beautiful beach about 5 miles north on highway at Mamalahoa turnoff (Kua Bay) was idyllic. Five minutes from home on Hawaii Belt Rd is Matsuyama Market with fantastic Hawaiian deli .. Kalua Pork was delicious .. only $5 .. Up the hill on Kaloko Drive is incredible scenic view as you ascend into the clouds to Mountain Thunder Coffee Plantation tour .. This is west side of island more calm and sunny, while east side is wetter and tropical.. the difference is remarkable.
Went to see the volcano .. allot an entire day for that, it's a 2 hour drive one way .. call for lava flowing updates first.. nps.gov/havo .. so you know what to expect.

The Big Island has so much to offer. From the observatory atop Mauna Loa to the Black Sand Beach at the City of Refuge, there are so many sights to see and activities to do. The snorkeling and diving are phenomenal. Catch a record Marlin or take home some Mahi Mahi for dinner. Zip line over a tropical forest, or hike into see one of the many beautiful waterfalls on the island. You have to visit the Volcano National Park and maybe take a helicopter ride to watch the lava flow into the ocean.
