A Fabulous Find
My all too brief stay at Icon Vallarta was heavenly. I'm an old Vallarta hand and I've never enjoyed more beautifully appointed, elegant, yet comfortable accommodations. Erwin's condo is stunning, with breathtaking views on three sides, that had our group of friends gazing contentedly at the horizon at all hours of the day and night. In fact, we woke up during a thunderstorm and watched the play of lightening over the water... spectacular. I would love to come back during whale watching season! The kitchen has everything a cook might need, though we used it sparingly. We were usually dining poolside or at the beach bar. Scrumptious salads and sandwiches, and wonderful breakfasts. I highly recommend the chilaquiles verdes, followed by a workout at the gym, or a romantic walk on the beach. The hotel staff was always helpful and gracious, making us feel cared for and protected. The Icon is obviously family friendly, but I think singles and couples will appreciate its sophisticated ambience and witty decor. The resort is surrounded by great options for dining and dancing, and it's a quick taxi ride to the shops and restaurants of old Vallarta... and only minutes to the airport and Costco! I would recommend Erwin's condo and Icon Vallarta to anyone who wants to escape the day to day stresses and hassles of home and enjoy a little pampering in Paradise.
