As Beautiful as Advertised

The cabin, views, and setting were as beautiful as advertised. The property was clean, gave privacy, was well furnished and the owners were great to work with. We could not have been happier. We definitely would like to rent the cabin again on our next trip to the Bryson City area. Next time we may try to invite friends since the layout accommodates 3 private bedroom plus bath combinations.
We mostly cooked our own meals, so we cannot make any restaurant recommendations. We rode the Great Smokey Mt Railway, went to the top of Clingman's Dome, visited Santa's Land in Cherokee, shopped in Bryson City and Cherokee, and made several trips to Deep Creek park to play in the creek, jog, hike, and tube. We used the hot tube on the porch a few times, made s'mores in the camp fire out back, and sat on the deck and learned why they are called the smoky mountains. If you have children 2 to 7 years of age, I definitely recommend Santa's Land. I reluctantly went on my wife's prodding and found it to be well worth it for toddlers and young children. They charge $20 a head, allow you to bring in your own water and food, and do not nickel and dime you with other charges. They have amusement rides, animals to feed, bear cubs, magic show, playgrounds, shade in the pines, is not crowded, and is just plain family friendly. Loved it.
Note that the road to the cabin is gravel and steep in spots, so keep your speed going uphill, especially at a couple of the turns. There is no clearance problem, so a 2-wheel drive car can make it, but you cannot be a timid driver. You'll get used to it after a day or two. But, this is what gives you the privacy you were looking for.
