This apartment was fully renovated and restored in 2004 with walls of Venetian stucco, plank floors and Italian tiles. It is light and comfortable with views to both North and South into old copplestone courtyards. It has a kitchen with stove, refrigerator, microwave oven, freezer and dishwasher. The bathroom has a shower, washer and dryer. The bedroom has a queen size bed plus a large storage closet. In the living room there is a couch that folds out as sleeping space for additional two persons, if needed.
The apartment is in a 250 year old house in Nyhavn, withdrawn to the courtyards in the back of the front row. The canal of Nyhavn was created in early 1700th century so that traders could sail their cargo ships right up to the front row of warehouses. Now it is the restaurant and cafe haven of Copenhagen where people stroll all day.
The square of Kongens Nytorv next to Nyhavn is the Center of Old Copenhagen. Here you have the Royal Theatre, Magasin du Nord and it is where the shopping street Stroeget starts. On Stroeget you will find Georg Jensen, Royal Copenhagen and Illum plus Ecco's store. The square also has a Metro (subway) station which can take you to most places in Copenhagen and directly into Copenhagen Airport.
If you change from the Metro to the suburban trains, you can ride to Helsingor and visit Kronborg (Hamlet's Castle) or to Hillerod and visit Frederiksborg Castle built in the early seventeenth hundreds.
Even thought I spend most of my time in California, I just love to own a little piece of my old country. I spend two months per year here, and love it.

The apartment is beautiful, full of sunlight, perfectly maintained, and very quiet. All of Copenhagen is within walking distance, and the immediate neighborhood is full of personality and charm. A friendly and well-informed person was on hand to greet us, and we had easy access to a Copenhagen resident in case of any problems during our stay. We would love to stay here again!
Had a great time staying at Peter's apartment in Copenhagen. The location can't be beat. No more than 20 minute walk to any attraction in central Copenhagen. It's less than a 5 minute walk to the metro station, and countless bars and restaurants are at your doorstep along Nyhavn Canal.
The interior of the apartment is huge, and the couches for additional occupants are very comfortable. Easily sleeps four, or five with the use of the provided air mattress. Do yourself a favor and look no farther for your next stay in Copenhagen.
El departamento no podría tener una mejor ubicación. A pesar de estar en el puro centro turístico de Copenhague no se siente ningún ruido ya que está en un patio interior muy silencioso. Tiene muy fácil acceso al aeropuerto con el metro a menos de 3 minutos del dpto. El interior del dpto. es muy amplio, limpio y bien decorado. El encargado del dpto. (Simon) es muy amable y hace todo lo posible por hacer que la estadía sea agradable. No creo que exista un lugar más apropiado en la ciudad y recomiendo este lugar sin ningún reparo. El único agravante es que está localizado en un trecer piso sin ascensor por lo que las personas deshabilitadas o con equipaje muy pesado podrían tener algún inconveniente. Me volveria a alojar en este dpto. sin pensarlo dos veces.
Having read all the other glowing reviews, I'm not sure it's possible to make the light shine any brighter on this Nyhan Canal apartment. We were visiting our daughter who is studying with DIS. The apartment provided a comfortable and peaceful place to spend time together after we had spent the days walking all over the city. Maybe because the owner, Peter, does stay here at times, the apartment feels very welcoming and home-like. In fact the apartment is so well located we could walk everywhere. But some of the most beautiful, picture postcard perfect sights are right outside the door.
All our communications with Peter and Simon were helpful and easy. My only suggestion of additional helpful information prior to arriving is providing a drop off location to give the taxi driver since the apartment is not directly accessible from the street. For those of us not fortunate enough to speak Danish, Nyhavn isn't easily pronounced in a way that is understandable to Danish ears. Otherwise, we enjoyed everything about our stay.
The apartment is a perfect place to stay in Copenhagen. It is in a great neighborhood and is close to transportation so you can get to anywhere in the city or in Denmark for that matter. The apartment was very comfortable and very quiet and also filled with light which was fantastic. There was not an elevator so there were a bunch of stairs to climb but I am in my 70s and I was able to handle it without difficulty. Peter was extremely easy to deal with and Simon is a gem. He gave us several excellent suggestions for day trips and for restaurants. This is certainly a place where we would stay again. I have already recommended it to friends who were looking for a place to stay in Copenhagen.
This apartment is just perfect in so many ways. The location is the best. We literally walked everywhere! The apartment is so spacious by European standards. It is also very well equipped and has everything you need. We stayed for a full week and cannot wait to return. The entire rental process was so smooth from start to finish. Peter and Simon have a wonderful system that leaves no detail unattended. Simon was actually out of town when we arrived, but left his daughter in charge of our arrival. It went without a hitch! I actually hesitate to tell you how great this apartment is because I want it to be available for my next visit to Copenhagen.
