Enjoy stunning sunsets over the water from this hidden Nags Head gem! The perfect beach getaway for the nature-loving couple or small family. Water views abound from almost every room and it's just 2-3 minutes by car to free beach parking and access onto the best stretch of beach in Nags Head. This house is fantastic any time of year because of the outstanding views. It maintains a quiet and calm feel even in the busiest months. It's the perfect beach cottage for nature lovers, birders, hikers, paddlers, cyclists and anyone who just loves the outdoors (whether you're inside or out!) The view can be enjoyed while sitting comfortably inside or under the covered porch as well.
There is a little known, but lovely and large, white-sand, secluded soundside beach, just a short walk down the street, with calm, shallow water that's great for little ones, swimming or a sunset picnic dinner.
The Perfect Location: The cottage itself is so peaceful---all you will hear is the call of the osprey, the gentle lapping of water coming ashore, and the lovely sounds of nature. However, you are just a few minutes from Nags Head's best restaurants, groceries, and all the beach action if needed. Swim, fish, paddle, or windsurf just steps from the cottage! Hike along the shore up to Jockey's Ridge for a 360 view of the Outerbanks, taking in both the ocean and the sound at once! It's the perfect walk--just 12 minutes to the top of the ridge from the house.
Whether you sit and relax on our water view decks or do your yoga stretches there, don't forget to take in all the wildlife around you.
Incredible Sunsets and Water Views amid Nature: Pelicans diving for their meals, bunnies nibbling the grasses, osprey and kingfishers cruising the shoreline, sometimes even pods of porpoises can be seen in the sound!
If you're in the mood for the ever-changing Atlantic Ocean, somedays crashing blue, other days green and gently rolling, the beach is at it's best at the 13 mile post. The Atlantic shore is pristine here, free of the crowds you'll find in Kitty Hawk and Kill Devil Hills. The 13 mile post is lined with Nags Head's most beautiful old homes, known as Historic Cottage Row; it is the true heart of Nags Head. The early morning or late afternoon light upon these cottages is sublime. Nags Head's first church, historic St. Andrews-By-The-Sea, is located just a few blocks away from our cottage, directly between the ocean and the sound, and welcomes everyone for tours or services.
Our beach cottage is the perfect couple's getaway.
Wine, Dine and Relax Comfortably: Nice touches: quality wine glasses, water views from the indoor showers, 42'' TV, ceiling fans in every room, linen napkins/tablecoths, complimentary curbside recycling (only 5% of Nags Head cottages have curbside recycling), great windows for bird watching, quick and easy deluxe gas grill for impromptu meals, wonderful main room with high ceilings, skylights and large windows with a lovely water view across the sound as far as the eye can see. It's a very special house, come once and you'll want to come again and again.
