Family farmhouse at Kercem, Gozo

On arrival the property was clean and tidy and all clean towels and bed linen had been provided. The owner, Maria, was there to meet us when we arrived and show us around the property. She was nothing but helpful and couldn't do enough for us, from organising a mini bus to rent wihin an hours notice, to ordering and collecting a birthday cake for us, to recommending places she thought would be of interest to us. She arranged all transfers from the airport to the ferry, and then on from the ferry to the farmhouse for us on both inward and outbound trips at very reasonable cost, and was also waiting to wave goodby when the time came to leave the property at 0730, we could not have asked for anything more! The beautiful farmhouse was just amazing and must be seen for its true glory to be recognised. The weather was fantastic and the sun was on the pool from approx 0730 (when it was hot enough to sunbathe) until approx 1600-1630, when the farmhouse cast a shadow over the pool. Be aware that the pool slopes at an alarming gradient and, within maybe 2 footsteps, you can find yourself out of your depth. The village of Victoria was approx a 20 minute walk away with lovely outdoor squares to drink and eat in and plenty of restaurants to choose from. The village also had a lovely shopping mall with a full and reasonably priced supermarket on the lower level. There was also a park for the children to play in. Driving on Gozo was fun(!). although you must be confident to be a bit pushy or you'll never get anywhere, the rules of the road seem to be the bigger you are then the more you can force people to make way for you!
I would most definitely be happy to return to this idyllic location, and all 10 of us enjoyed a very relaxing week with a most professional and friendly service from the owner. Many an evening was spent around the pool, cooking on the barbeque, or playing cards around the large dining table, a unique opportunity to spend quality time with the family and enjoy the peace and quiet. It was a privilige to stay in this property.
