Love this place!

  • of 5

We loved our stay at this house. It was spacious and provided all we needed. Since everything was closed on Christmas Day we were at home most of the day and were Greatful for the space because our three girls had room to roam around. the girls had a blast with the ducks who greeted us from the first day. We were also grateful for the added touch of the beautiful Christmas tree and decorations. We were cautious around the driveway not to get stuck since it had rained for several days. God bless the owner of this home and may His face always shine upon you.

Great place to stay!!!!

  • 5 of 5

I really enjoyed staying here. The owners were wonderful. We had a problem with the internet and oven and the owners were there and fixed everything. This home looks as nice as the pictures. I was very pleased when we arrived. We had 3 different small families (7 people) staying together and we each had our own space and was plenty of room. The neighborhood was nice and quiet. The fireflies at night were amazing, unlike anything I had ever seen. The drive to Chattanooga was nice and only took about 20 minutes. If I vacation back in Chattanooga I would definitely stay here again.

Great Base Camp for Our Adventure

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed staying in this house. It was about 20 min. from Lookout Mountain and about an hour and ten min. from our white water rafting outfitter. We had all the creature comforts of home (especially appreciated the washer and dryer and 1/2 bath). There is a great grocery store down the hill so it was convenient to stop there on our way home each night. The girls enjoyed dining on the back deck and watching the lightening bugs at night. The house was clean and comfortable. We had a large group of girls stay here and we all fit nicely. It has a great front porch. I would recommend this house to others. We cooked all our meals there so I am unable to recommend a restaurant in the area. We did visit the produce market two miles down the main road and picked up some sweet juicy peaches.

Charming cabin

  • 5 of 5

My family had a nice and relaxing time there. It was nice to feel so secluded even though we weren't too far from Chattanoga. On our last day there, while packing the car, the ducks from the pond came to us as if they were saying good bye.

Nice house....but be sure to arrive in the day time!

  • 4 of 5

My first impression of this home was terrible! We arrived at 9:30pm. The house was very hard to find as the roads had no lights, there were no house numbers, and no mailboxes. I called the homeowner who directed me to the house where she "left the light on." As I turned into the driveway that was not lit, I drove off the edge into the yard. My car got stuck in the mud and had to get towed out! If the home owner had appropriate lighting or marking of the driveway this would not have happened.

Once inside the home, we found it to be very nice and well maintained. It had everything anyone could need and we had a great visit.

However, each of the other people who came to the house the next night also struggled with the driveway (this time I was out there with a flashlight so no one else wound up in the mud.)

This home is very far from Chattanooga, but if you want a quiet location that you will definitely return to during the day then this home is good for you.

Owner's Response: Sorry you had such a ruff time with the Driveway and finding the house, we have had this Cabin on VRBO for almost 3 years and no one else has had any problem coming in at night. The Directions I gave are very explicit even with a google link. This Cabin is in the Country, and we do not like lights out here so you can see the stars, we have had so many people tell us "YOU CAN SEE THE STARS" and really enjoy that aspect. May be I can get some of those blue reflectors and line the driveway. We are about 20-25 min to Main Street in Chattanooga, But the city limits are only about 15 min. It also take about 20-25 min to get to Rock City and Ruby Falls. So glad that you ended up enjoying the place.

Getaway together

  • 4 of 5

Needs kitchen skillet upgrades, some kind of rail up the stairs, new mattress for the upstairs double bed (it is worn out and squeaks everytime you sit, turn over or lie on it. having a new one will influence whether we go again). Otherwise, good house for family and children. It is out in the country and a great place not far from Chattanooga. It served our needs well. We were pleased to find a door wreath and Christmas tree!! It was clean and well kept.

Owner's Response: Thank you for letting me know about the skillets & bed. Since we do not live there we are not always aware of the updates needed. We will get right on that. as for the banister, that was next on our list. Glad you enjoyed it otherwise. Have a happy new year. Debi.

We love to go to www.nps.gov/chch If you know of relatives that fought in the Civil war you can take their name to the folks at the front desk and they can look it up, tell you where the makers are where they fought and you can follow those markers and when you read the markers you can look over the land and see where they fought.

Here are some places you all might like to go too!

http://www.gastateparks.org/CloudlandCanyon is about 15 miles from us. Great hiking and there are picnic tables and playground.

http://www.friendsofscsra.org/aboutthepark.htm Here are links to other places we like to go to. if you like to see go hiking. see Water falls and there is a Natural Bridge on Mount Eagle too!

http://theblueridgehighlander.com/state_parks/tennessee/red_clay.php One of our favorite places to go for picnics.

As you can tell we are the type that like to explore and hike.

But here are things to do in Chattanooga too.

http://www.tennesseeaquarium.org/Home.aspx?gclid=CPHq4YCEwa4CFUll7AodnR_6Qw If you decide to go here plan on at lease most of the day, the kids can even pet some of the fish. We go at least once a year, and never get tired of it.

www.chattanoogaducks.com you might want to do this the same day! This is some where I want to take the grand kids.

http://www.chattanooga.gov/PRAC/30_CoolidgePark.htm We have had several birthday party's here, and you can walk across the Market street Bridge from the Aquarium to the park and ride the carrousel and let the kids play in the fountains.

www.cdmfun.org We have not been here yet but are real anxious to go.

http://www.tvrail.com We took our grand kids here and they just loved being able to ride a train.

You can ride the http://www.ridetheincline.com/ to http://www.battlesforchattanooga.com/open.html and then go to point park and look over Chattanooga and see what the places look like now, Like Missionary Ridge, Cameron Hill etc

just a side note. There is a little Pizza/Ice cream place right across from the incline, that is priced great. Gary & I will go there and have pizza and a banana Split. We will share the Banana Split and still not be able to eat it all.
