The home is 2.5 miles from the nearest paved road and offers a lot of quite and privacy. It's clean, comfortable and a great place to relax when not exploring the south rim of the Grand Canyon. It's off the grid so expect to crank up the generator in the evenings. The batteries last a few hours after sundown but if you want the refrigerator to run all night and lights when you get up in the morning then expect to run the generator for an hour or two in the evenings to keep the batteries from completely discharging. The generator is well maintained, has an electric starter and is easy to start. We spent most of our time at the south rim and were glad to get away from the crowds in the evenings.
Was a wonderful place!
My family and me enjoyed a lot this beautiful house. Located a half an hour of Grand Canyon but without tourist massification. The house is ideal if you love natura, animals and silence. Dark nights full of stars. No cars sounds. Wildlife.
The equipment of the house is perfect. Has everything you need and more. Very clean and decorated tastefully.
We had such a wonderful visit to the Grand Canyon with our family, and this cabin made it perfect! The cabin is beautiful and very comfortable, could not have asked for more. The owner was very personable and professional, answering all of our questions and concerns. We will definitely look forward to booking this property again on our next trip. Thank you!!!
Although this is an excellent cabin in a beautiful area, there are many screens on the windows that are bent. When we arrived, the house was full of flies, not just a few but hundreds of flies crowded into all of the window. There was one fly swatter, which the family took turns killing. After a few hours, the flies were dead and the window with bent screens were closed. Unfortunately, we missed one in the master bedroom. So when my son and wife headed off to bed, the room was full of flying ants. Once again, we began taking turns killing the ants with the one fly swatter. In the meantime many of the ants flew into the living area and the back bedroom with the bunk beds. One of my grown sons slept in the car. My oldest son and his wife slept in the very hot master bed room with two of their children and I slept in the smaller bedroom with one of my grand daughters. These were not the accommodations we expected. After visiting the Grand Canyon on Saturday, my oldest son, his wife and children left. It would take very little to solve this problem and it would be a lovely place to stay. The kitchen is serviceable, there are plenty of games and movies for all ages, the setting is gorgeous. I hope the owner will spend the money to repair the screens. We felt we spent to much money to spend the weekends with the bugs.
Beautiful scenery, high quality, impeccably clean log cabin / ranch house. The engineering solutions work very well, no inconvenience whatsoever. We had to turn on the generator for a couple of hours in the evening on cloudy days, but no big deal. The huge windows in the living room are great for watching wildlife: lots of birds and rabbits, a couple of deer and a coyote. We had a wonderful trip and hope to return.
This cabin is beautiful, well-maintained, clean, and comfortable. The owner was very fast at responding to questions and we liked the self-sufficient nature of the cabin with the wood pellet stove, the solar power, and the backup generators. We were impressed with the attention to detail. Considering that, the only (minor) suggestion we have is to provide some hand soap in the bathroom sinks. We enjoyed our stay here!
