The community of Red Hook is just a short walk away and offers the $6 ferry (only 15 minute ride) to St. John, restaurants, grocery, pharmacy, spirits, ATM, and nightlife. The safari bus is available for just $1 to get around so there is no need for a rental car. A longer 20 minute ride to the duty-free shops and historic district of downtown Charlotte Amalie is just $2.

Paradise is the right word for this beautiful condo and the view is just amazing. My husband and I sat on the balcony for hours just watching the changing colors of the water. Being an end unit provides extra breezes and view enhancement If you want quiet and relaxation, this is definitely for you-it is just so peaceful. One of the fabulous pools is practically outside the door. The pool is underutilized and like your own personal pool. Both the pools are crystal clear and marvelously maintained. The vegetation is lush and the flowers bloom prolifically!

The owner, Kathy, is a pleasure to work with and answers any concerns promptly. Kathy advised us who to contact to arrange pick-up from the airport, stop at the store, and return to the airport. The couple recommended can also take care of any diving , fishing, or water day trips that you may wish to do! Really, there is no need to leave Sapphire Village-everything is right there!

Being as this is one of the hottest and most humid months, we were very pleased that the AC just hummed along. In the morning we were able to turn the AC off and we were able to open the sliding door and let the breezes blow through! The condo is just a perfect size and appointed with care for your needs.

When we did venture away from Sapphire Village, we used the safari dollar bus
which stops at the entry. This is an adventure in itself! The bus is open-aired and one literally has to be able to hop on quickly. At 71 and 70 felt pretty good about hopping! Red Hook is only .5 miles away but the road is narrow and windy and I would recommend the bus! The ferry from Red Hook to St Johns makes good day trip!

We can not say enough about how wonderful the condo and trip to St.Thomas was. Cannot wait to go again!
Owner's Response: The warm ocean breezes are always lightly blowing so it is true that AC is only needed at night even during the most humid months. It was more humid in the Boston area when we returned from our vacation this summer than it was in St. Thomas!

Amazing Views, Convenient Location, Great Condo!!

My boyfriend and I stayed at this condo the last week of April and had an amazing time. Kathy was so helpful in promptly answering all of my questions prior to the trip and included some of her own tips as well. The view from the balcony is extraordinary; it being an end unit does give you an extra glimpse of the ocean to your right.
We took the safari bus, which picks you up right at the entrance to Sapphire Village, to the Kmart and into town another day. We would also ride it into Red Hook because the road is a bit windy and dangerous. Then we would walk the 5 minutes back to the condo. Make sure to bring a flashlight if you're walking at night.
Sapphire Beach was beautiful, it was convenient having a restaurant right on the property, the two pools provided extra space to lounge outside. The ferry to St. John was right in Red Hook along with great bars and restaurants.
All in all an amazing trip and I would love to stay again!

Nice Location and Great Owners

My girlfriend and I just recently returned from staying at this condo and we absolutely loved it. The close location to the complexes 'small' pool is very convenient for a late night dip after returning from Red Hook or St. Johns. The end unit offers a bit better view than I'd imagine other units would offer as well. We had one minor issue with losing power to the bathroom for a short time, but Kathy and her husband worked super quick to get it fixed and were both very pleasant to work with and very quick to respond to the issue. If anything their quick responses and how wonderful they were to deal with througout the entire rental process defintely bumped this place from a 4 star to a 5 star on the scale. I've used VBRO for a number of vacation rentals and what really makes a difference beyond the place at which you stay, is the ease of dealing with the owners!

One thing for anyone visiting this area, bring your walking shoes, the complex is very hilly!! But it allows you to eat some great meals and then work of the calories. A trip to St. John is a must for a USVI trip, and the location of this condo makes that extremely easy! Thanks again Kathy!

Awesome view

Sorry for the *very* late review- we stayed in Dec 2010. Clean, comfortable, cozy, we couldn't believe how great the view was, it was a wonderful suprise! The layout is very smart. Can't beat the price. A rental car is convenient, but not necessary. It's a reasonable walk (with hills) to main part of Red Hook- look for path on side of the road. We shopped at the local grocery for breakfast items and would eat lunch/dinner out. It was perfect to have the fridge and freezer for cold water and ice cubes. Thank you for a great stay! Very charming, would stay again if we go back to St. Thomas.

Would Highly Recommend!!!

What an incredible vacation!!! When my husband and I first came across this listing, we were skeptical, because the price seemed too good to be true! But the condo and entire vacation not only met, but exceeded our expectations in every way! The condo was exactly as described, and had the most beautiful view I've ever seen. It was a very short (2 minute walk) to Sapphire Beach. And very conveniently located to Red Hook, where we caught the ferry to St. John. We had read from others about the Safari Bus, and used it to get all over the island. We did not rent a car, and had no problems at all getting where we wanted to go. Kathy was an absolute joy to work with. My husband and I both agree that we would like to try and make this a yearly getaway, and we would no doubt rent this condo in the future. I would highly recommend this to everyone!
