While we live and work in Miami, we LOVE the Smoky Mountains and spend much of our vacationing time in Gatlinburg exploring, hiking, shopping, and simply taking in the awesome views. It's a place to slow down, rest your body and rejuvenate your soul!

Bev Mooney purchased this cabin in 2005

The mountain itself, is a sight to see with winding roads, flowers, flowering trees, streams and wildlife. It is close to fun activities such as hiking, rafting, horseback riding, and shopping at the many shops and galleries in the area. The area is strikingly beautiful and clean.

Enjoy the fireplace, king sized bed, large jacuzzi indoor tub, shower for 2, gas grill, outside hot tub on a private deck looking at the forest and mountain ranges surrounding the area. There is a spiral staircase leading to the loft where you can play pool or relax in the rocking chairs simply enjoying the view.

Fell in love with this gem of a cabin from the minute we walked in. This cozy home is so neat, clean and well equipped for a perfectly relaxing vacation. We felt far away from our busy life but yet so still close to downtown Gatlinburg to enjoy the restaurants, shopping, a spa, golfing and even gambling, not to mention the scenic moutain roads of the Smokeys. What more could you need.

My husband and I stayed in Snuggle Bug for a weekend getaway. As soon as we walked in the door we felt right at home! We loved the entire decor. It helped out to have all the main necessities available to cook with! Thank you so much to Bev for all your help and concern when it started to snow on our last day! I would recommend this cabin for anyone who wants to get away and stay in the quiet mountains of Gatlinburg!

My entire experience with this cabin...from contacting the owner (Bev) for reservations, booking, directions, the cabin itself, cabin location to the sites around the cabin was EXCELLENT. I foolishly carried a few kitchen and bed/bath items, but didn't need them as the cabin had more than necessary for the stay. The double-head shower, indoor jacuzzi, and pool table gave us plenty to enjoy during the brief snow. Grocery store - just under 10min. Downtown - 15min.

We visit a cabin every winter and I will definitely be back to this cabin!!!!!

Perfect place for our relaxing honeymoon!

Snuggle Bug provided a cozy and beautiful getaway for us during our week long honeymoon in the Smokies. The cabin is very inviting and we would have been very happy to just stay put and relax inside all day everyday. The drive to town is easy and not really that long when you consider the feeling of staying outside of town. It even snowed while we were there! It was beautiful and the roads up the mountain side had been treated so that we had no problems driving the morning after the snow fell - and in my small sedan.
We got a lot of use out of the pool table, hot tub, and fireplace. Even in the cold temperatures, the hot tub was perfect. We also loved that the fireplace was pretty much NO maintenance for us. It has a timer and is super easy to turn on and then just relax knowing that it will go off on its own. We let it run anytime we were home. :)
The cabin is practically exactly as pictured. The only exception I noticed is that the TV has been upgraded to a flat screen and they have a BluRay player and sound bar that provides nice sound if you want to watch a movie. The bed is big and comfy and everything was VERY clean.
I read another review that reported the smell of cigarettes, but I don't know where they got that. It smelled nice and clean from the moment we arrived. We even TRIED to find the scent of cigarette in the furniture and carpet and found NOTHING.
The shower is big enough for two people and has shower heads on each side. It would have been really nice if we could have turned the water up as hot as we wanted it, but the handle/knob had a restricter in place where you can only turn it so far. I had this problem in my own apartment once and it is a simple fix with an allen wrench, so I bet Bev and the owners will fix it. This was really our only complaint and it wasn't even that big of a deal. The water wasn't cold...just not as hot as we'd like. :) Everything else was so perfect the whole time that I don't even feel like it was worth knocking this cabin out of the 5 star rating for us.
Again, we LOVED our stay. The Gatlinburg area was wonderful. Great restaurants and beautiful views of the mountains, even just on a simple drive. There were tons of things for us to do to keep us as busy as we wanted for the week and still plenty left if we return in the future. We would love to come back and would absolutely stay at Snuggle Bug again and recommend it highly for anybody who needs a relaxing getaway. Thanks!

Owner's Response: Dear Claire:

Thank you for your feedback regarding your stay at Snuggle Bug and for bringing to our attention the hot water restrictor. I wasn't even aware we had one so your feedback and recommendation will certainly make the hot water better for our future guests. I would be interested to know if you had the same experience in the big Jacuzzi tub so we can address that also.

We are so happy you enjoyed your stay and the area. I've been coming here more years than I would like to admit and feel the same. Now that I have semi-retired and just relocated from a busy life and career in Miami to our second home on the same mountain, I can truly devote personal attention to Snuggle Bug and small details that will only improve Snuggle Bug's presentation.

Should you visit us again, you will find we have upgraded the bedding with some super soft and beautiful high thread count Egyptian cotton sheets (sorry it happened after your departure), have added some zen candles by the Jacuzzi tub and waterfall, replaced the coffee pot with a higher end pot so you can set the timer and wake up smelling the coffee, and have added some extra creature comforts in the bathroom like robe hooks and other items.

Over the next few months, we will be having all windows professionally cleaned, will be replacing the dishes, wine glasses and pots and pans with some that are a little more on the contemporary side, replacing blinds, and personalizing the welcome packages a little more.

We just got a new guest journal (the other one is full but we are leaving for others to enjoy) as we love to read about how our guests find their experience and it provides us with valuable feedback and good ideas such as the one you shared.

We want to take Snuggle Bug to the next level in terms of class, elegance, and comfort, and provide our guests with not just a wonderful stay in a beautiful setting, but a truly memorable and extraordinary romantic experience.

Again, thank you for your feedback and we hope you will consider Snuggle Bug for your future visits to Gatlinburg!

Warmest regards,

Snuggle Bug is located on Webb Mountain on the edge of the Smoky Mountain National Park. You drive through a beautiful part of Bent Creek Golf Course to get to the base of the mountain and from there, the ride to the cabin is about 1.2 miles. The cabin is 13 miles from downtown Gatlinburg and it is a lovely drive. You are close to the Greenbriar entrance to the National Park which is an awesome drive in itself and has many hiking trails, pull overs, stream fishing, waterfalls, wildlife, and great photo opportunities. About 1/2 way between Snuggle Bug and downtownis the largest Artist Loop which is the largest in the country where you will find art galleries exhibiting, shopping, & dining. Whitewater rafting and horse back riding are just a few miles away. It's close enough to enjoy downtown yet far enough to have total privacy and experience a quiet, romantic cabin on one of the most beautiful mountains around. For a good hike and work out, walk the mountain & enjoy nature!

Other Activities: Your welcome package will be in the cabin and includes maps, dining guides, shopping guides, suggestions on things to see and do and coupons for discounts at local restaurants, shops and for activities in the area.

For wood sculpting, visit Heartwoood Galleries on East Parkway, on your left driving down to downtown Gatlinburg. Or check out the Artists' Loop, a winding, beautiful road rich with art galleries, local craftsmen's shops, and pottery stores.

For a refreshing, unique and 'home cooked' meal, try The Wild Plum, just a short drive down the loop.

For those wanting to escape life's daily hustle and looking for a quiet, romantic, and ultra clean place to hang out, you may enjoy just relaxing in the ambience of the cabin, taking walks around the mountain, and soaking in the beauty of the forest and abundant wildlife on Webb Mountain.

Please share with us any interesting, fun or different activities or places you visit by posting a review on our VRBO listing.

Golf: Beautiful Bent Creek Golf Course is located at the base of Webb Mountain. You literally drive through the golf course to reach the base of the mountain and then the cabin is approximately 1.5 miles up the mountain. Bent Creek Golf course is listed as one of the top 10 golf courses in the Southeast. Enjoy seeing the year round geese and their babies that live on on the golf course; watch deer as they frolick in the early morning dew on the greens. The ponds and streams are beautiful as are the trees and views of the surrounding mountains. It's simply beautiful and quite a special place on earth!

Ski: There is a ski lift in downtown Gatlinburg and skiing in the winter months close by.
