We boughtSpring Branch in 2006 while it was under construction after coming to the area with our family for many years and falling in love with the awesome skiing terrain and the tranquil atmosphere of Big Cottonwood Canyon and the Solitude village.
The perfect family retreat close to the slopes.
All ten (8 adults/2 kids) of us agreed that our winter vacation in this wonderful, accommodating home was the best family vacation we’ve had. We all cooked, ate, skied, hot-tubbed, snowshoed, laughed, played in the snow and slept like babies. Did I mention privacy for everyone? A really first-rate home. We’ll definitely return!
5 of us stayed at Spring Branch House in Solitude, Utah for a week and had the perfect winter holiday. The famed Utah powder appeared and after a lesson on handling it from the awesome Eric at the ski school we made the most of it. We were aided in getting maximum time on the slopes by there being literally no lift lines ! The house is close enough to the lift base to go home for lunch and we did that many days to take full advantage of the gourmet kitchen and fire place (wood supplied) in the spacious and comfy great room. After a full day on the slopes a soak in the hot tub eased tired muscles and the underfloor heating kept everything toasty. The house is perfectly set up with ski rack in the garage, boot room inside the door from the garage and laundry right next to that. Bedrooms are roomy and comfortable and furnishings throughout the house are gorgeous. With two televisions showing Direct TV, house DVD library and board games there is no shortage of entertainment. The Solitude Lodging Service will promptly take care of anything you need from more firelighters to sweeping the snow off the satelitte dish.
Solitude resort is attractive with European style architecture and very good eating and drinking options including the not to be missed dinner at the Yurt experience. There is also spa services at the Inn with excellent and freindly therapists. Also check out the nordic sports area for snowshoeing and cross country skiing... you may be lucky enough to see the resident Moose family !
45 minutes form the airport and 15-20 mins to grocery stores and a big REI, Solitude and Spring Branch House could not be more convenient. We can't wait to go back next year.
Situated just a short 40-minute drive from Salt Lake City Airport and receiving an average of 500 inches of snow each year, Solitude offers a world-class skiing experience in an easy-to-reach location. With the same snow and mountains as high-profile neighbors Alta and Snowbird, a stay at Solitude is significantly more economical. True to its name, lift lines and crowds are a rarity at Solitude, allowing you to truly enjoy the 1200 acres of ski terrain and the charming ambiance of a European-style ski village.
