This coastal themed luxury condo at Waves Village can accommodate from 2 to 8 people (plus more if necessary). Each bedroom (K/K/Q) is connected to it's own full private bathroom (3 total). Your private deck has a clear view of the water - where colorful kiteboarding kites often line the sky and evening sunsets are among the most beautiful on the East Coast.
Free Wi-Fi, a full kitchen, flat screen TV + DVD player in each bedroom plus a 50+ inch TV with Surround Sound & iPod dock in the large great room, washer/dryer, stainless appliances, and free cable are some of the top interior amenities. Outside features a large guitar shaped community pool (shared by 9 condos), gear storage lockers, outdoor warm/cold water showers, plus discounts on kiteboarding lessons, kayak tours, hang gliding lessons, and kiteboarding/kayak/paddleboard/surf board rentals.
Across the parking lot is a kiteboarding school, full service restaurant, coffee shop, shops with something for everyone!
About the Area: The beach is a 10 minute walk across the island (crossing one two lane road). The road you walk down brings you to the Rodanthe Pier - the only Pier within 20 miles - and a fairly secluded beach area. You'll be able to pick your spot on the beach with ease and without having to walk far.
The pool area is a popular hang out spot at the resort, and the waterfront decks behind the retail shop, above the kiteboarding school, and behind the restaurant are packed with spectators on a windy night watching all the shop pros show their skills after they get off from work around 530. Any time it's windy, there's sure to be dozens of spectators watching kiteboarders directly behind the resort.
The Chicamacomico Life Saving Station museum is about 1 mile away, and the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse (America's Tallest Lighthouse) is about 25 miles away and is worth climbing. S-Turns is known as the best surf spot on the East Coast and is 1 mile from the resort.
Events: Summertime events include 2pm daily demos at the resort for Kayaks, Paddleboards, and Power Kites, and a weekly Kid's Day from 4-6 on Wednesdays evenings. Wednesday during the summer is also Kiteboarding Demo Day with free Kiteboarding Kite & Board rentals from 9-5!
Hatteras KiteWeek & the Hatteras KiteXpo happen here each year! KiteWeek is a week long camp that includes a week of accommodations with pro riders staying in the same condo, those same pro riders teaching various 2 day clinics, other adventures like tandem hang gliding, dune hang gliding, surfing, stand up paddleboarding, kayaking, and beach bonfires, competitions, and more. The KiteXpo happens during our Spring KiteWeek and features several of the top kiteboarding brands bringing out their gear to the largest demo event on the east coast! Spots are extremely limited so sign up now! Go to www.thekitexpo.com for more details on each event.
The Outer Banks is a great destination for families, groups, families with kids, retirees, couples, and more. Though summertime is the most populated and warmest time of year, the Spring & Fall have much to offer including lower rates, nice weather, and less traffic.
If you enjoy going to the beach, flying a kite, sightseeing, shopping, watersports, eating out, or just relaxing with your family and friends, Rodanthe is the perfect location. Sunsets here are amazing - the sun sets into the horizon with no land in sight - reminding many of the west coast, and of course there's nothing like watching a sunrise on the soft sandy beaches of Cape Hatteras.
Rodanthe is a world class kiteboarding and surfing destination. Stand Up Paddleboarding and Kayaking are also two of the more popular activities. This particular location is one of the few Kiteboarding Resorts in the world, featuring a Kiteboarding School, Waterfront Condos & Restaurant, Coffee Shop, and 4 exciting retail shops!
Other Activities: Kiteboarding, Hang Gliding, Kayaking, Stand Up Paddleboarding
