Charming little house with view of the water. We have a large deck off the house and an additional deck over the water with a fish cleaning table and fresh water. Large Dock, rebuilt in 2013, will accommodate 4 boats. Electricity is available on the dock.
Utility room has washer and dryer. Unheated storage room below house has room for 2 more sleepers. Single bath has shower, and separate wash room has 2 basins. Sheets and towels are stocked. One bedroom has king bed, the other a queen.
Remodeled in 2011, the kitchen has propane gas stove, microwave, lots of counter space and is completely furnished. The cupboards are stocked, and all you need to bring are the perishables, your swimsuit and toothbrush.
Boat launch facilities or boat rental at Sugar Barge Marina are nearby, 5 minutes drive.
The house has a pellet stove for heat in the winter and ceiling fans for the summer. It is well insulated. Propane barbeque and large patio table on the deck are available for your use. Parking space is below the house in the front driveway and yard. We have no WiFi or internet access and no telephone, but what the heck. You are on vacation.
Waterskiing or boating: We are 10 minutes to fast water and located next to Emerald Point Marina. Launching is available at Sugar Barge Marina, 5 minutes away. Boat rental is also available there.
We have enjoyed this house as a weekend getaway, then as a vacation home and our kids grew up waterskiing here. Now the grandkids are enjoying it, too. We remodeled and upgraded the house in 2009 and it now has all the comforts we need.
Ron and Cathy Keil purchased this house in 1994
Less than 2 hours from the Bay Area, it was close enough to come for a weekend and far enough away to really relax and forget about work. The neighbors are friendly if you want to walk around and chat or they will leave you alone if you don't want to go out and meet them.
It is a quiet, relaxing place to forget about the stress of work or the rest of your problems. Close to small towns if you want to run in to a movie or a big grocery store and we have small bars, restaurants, and boating facilities close by if you need them. You can walk along the levee and see the unique houses and boats. Overall, it is just a fun place to relax and enjoy.
What a beautiful spot - exactly as described. It might seem a little daunting knowing that the property managers live on the dock but actually this just added to the feeling of security.
Absolutely wonderful hosts. Ron and Cathy catered for all needs and Lisa was incredibly welcoming. (As was Bonnie the cat!)
Great for parking and a spacious property. Thank you so much!
We really enjoyed our entire stay. Lisa and Bob were very friendly and helpful. The fishing was exceptional of the dock as well as out on our boat. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. We highly recommend this cabin and plan to return soon.
Place was AMAZING! It was a fisherman's dream! Short idle to Sugar Barge or Russo's. Private dock with power @ the boat. House was very clean, safe neighborhood and well stocked. Would recommend this place to anyone lookin for an affordable place to stay on the water. TOP NOTCH!
We had a great 2 weeks here! I Loved the location, easy access to the water, town, spacious 2 bedroom - the house has an excellent floor plan, as well as a warm welcome feeling, easy to settle into, and feel like a home away from home.
I highly recommend this waterfront house with all the comforts it has to offer. The house is well maintained, clean, and great customer service. I love to walk and plenty of space to walk and enjoy the beautiful seroundings of the Delta. Two weeks on Bethel Island was amazing! Check out the local town of Oakley; has everything you need! I walked around the whole Bethel Island on the levee - twice - with my dog! I LOVED the 2 weeks of NO / NONE cable TV or internet service; it was the highlight of our stay - gets you outdoors, reading the great books that are provided in the house, get out on the water and enjoy, and relax. The deck was great to be out on; we were lucky with great weather! Great place and highly recommended!
Great house. Great location. Very nice Weber BBQ and Bose Outdoor speakers. (What more could you ask for!) Owners and caretakers were fantastic to work with. Make sure you stop by the Rusty Portal for a drink.
Our stay and the house were absolutely perfect. Lots of friendly folks and exactly what we were wanting. Took our grandkids 9 & 13 and they loved it! Everything in the house worked and was so cozy. Could cook and see the kids fishing off the dock. We rented a patio boat from Sugar Barge (5 minutes away) and fished
exploring the sloughs. We're excited to plan our next trip...Thanks Ron and Kathy for sharing your home.
This is a recreation area on the Sacramento-Stockton Delta. 1000 miles of waterways, it is known for great boating, waterskiing, swimming, fishing and waterfowl.
Golf: Bethel Island public golf course is nearby.
