2-3 Bedroom (t v room with full size day bed); full bath up, half bath down

Peaceful craftsman bungalow 2 blocks from the seawall surrounded by lush tropical gardens. Lovingly restored in 2006, ammenities include a well equipped gourmet kitchen, updated period style baths, and comfortable ecclectic furnishings.

The bedrooms (upstairs) include a master suite with queen memory foam mattress; 2nd bedroom with queen memory foam mattress; and t v room , with full size day bed, and 37' t v w/ blue ray player.

The open floorplan downstairs allows for lots of natural light. The large front porch provides a relaxing retreat for enjoying the ocean breezes and sounds of the surf. The bedrooms and full bath upstairs provide a cozy environment for a good nights rest. A full size stackable washer/ dryer in the bath closet, satellite tv, and wireless internet services are also provided for your convenience.

The neighborhood is a quiet collection of bungalows just off the beaten path of the more 'tourisity' parts of the Island, but still in the middle of activity. Island favorites 'Queen's Barbque', 'The Spot ' Restaurant and bar, 'The Gumbo Diner', and 'Brick House Tavern' are all within 3 blocks along Seawall Boulevard. Island landmark 'Gaido's' Restaurant is 5 blocks down the Blvd

The Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier built over the gulf is 9 blocks east. The Downtown Strand historic District and cruise ship terminal are within a 5 minuite drive, while Moody gardens and Schlitterbahn water park are an approx. 15 minuite drive west.

The best feature of this home, however, is it's peacful and calming effect it has on all who visit. Whether for a quiet get away for a small group, or for a family vacation get away, the Beach Bungalow provides the perfect setting.

Galveston has an impressive fourth of July celebration (fireworks display are set off at 37th Street jetty 3 blocks away). Thanksgiving and Christmas are another ideal time to be on the island. The summer crowds have thinned out, the weather is mild (bordering on awesome), and the atmosphere is laid back.

If it is raucious fun and excitement you're looking for, then come down for Mardi Gras (several Mardi Gras parades march down this section of Seawall Blvd. See mardigrasgalveston.com for details) , Spring break/ Memorial Day, or The Lone Star Bike Rally (usually the first week of November).

TRANQUIL PARADISE

WOW !! This incredibly peaceful home was so hard to dart with. We could have easily stayed another week. The well kept landscaping set a tropical ambiance right off the bat. The home was nestled in a quite neighborhood however, it was within walking distance to shops, the beach and one of the best restaurant in Galveston. The home really hit all five senses of relaxation. Which is why we came to get away from the city life. Inside is a scene from an HGTV home, updated that has any homeowner in awe over the craftsmanship. Extremely clean inside. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. The kitchen was immaculate and the view out to the landscaping was nice. The backyard has a table where we enjoyed the provided coffee, and watched birds fly in and out of the landscaped gardens. Overall experience was nothing but greatness. We can't wait to come back and visit this blissful home for our next vacation.

VERY NICE HOME. WE HAD A GREAT TIME

We would suggest putting a TV down stairs for a group of people to watch movies. Trim the bushes in the back yard for less mosquitoes. Love the set up of the house. Hope to come back soon.

COASTAL PERFECTION! ADORABLE, COMFORTABLE, SUPERB!

This house is everything and more than we expected! I was nervous about our first time renting a place, but could not have been more pleased. This house was in immaculate condition, exactly as stated in the description, and the character of the 100 year old place was breathtaking. Our family of five, plus our friends' family of four fit very comfortably and had everything we needed for a week-long stay. The only addition I could recommend would be a baby gate. There are stairs that can be closed off in the main part of the house, but there is a back staircase that has no door. We had to watch our 18 month old very closely. Other than that, it was perfect! So close to anywhere we wanted to go too. I highly recommend this home, and we are already trying to plan our next trip. Would LOVE to stay here again! My favorite part was the porch...it's a little tough in the mornings with the sun coming up, but the evenings were magnificent! Loved every moment! Thank you Bill - you were right...this place WAS for real and we DID love it!!

THE BEST ISLAND STAY POSSIBLE !!!!

Let me begin by saying we have stayed in many homes and condos all over the third coast but this home has exceeded all expectations !! Pictures and colorful wording will usually lure a renter in than fall really short when you arrive, but this experiance was different. When I rented the property I was looking at the location and how its walking distance from many island attractions. In the weeks before our vacation to Galveston I had the privilege to speak to the owner Bill who explained to me the amount of work and care that has gone into restoring this property, and I knew right then we would be in for a real treat ! The property is spotless inside and out, none of that "lived in" feel you get with other rentals at the beach. The furnishings are time period to the early 1900's with all the modern comforts we are used to today. We had a great time in your home Bill and thank you for sharing this true Texas treasure with us. We will be staying again REAL SOON !!!!!!!!!

Classic 1914 Craftsman bungalow located on a quiet corner lot near the Kempner Park neighborhood of old mid town Galveston, we are 2 blocks from Galveston's seawall & beaches. Located just outside of the more touristy parts of the city, you are within walking distance to locally favorite restaurants 'The Spot', 'Queen's Bar-b-q', 'Brickhouse Tavern' 'The Gumbo Diner', and 'Joe's Crab Shack'. Island landmark 'Gaido's Seafood' (39th Street and Seawall),and 'Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier' (25th and seawall) are a a few blocks farther. The Historic Downtown Strand shopping district/ cruise ship terminal, Moody Gardens, and Schlitterbahn Water Park are within a 5 to 15 minuite drive.

Other Activities: Hit the seawall (2 blocks from your door)for sandy beaches, trinket and t shirt shops, or an informal meal/ cocktails with a view. The Strand Historic District (downtown) offers an array of unique shops, art galleries, and antiquing, not to mention the numerous dining opportunities. The bustling cruise ship terminal is located on the harbor side of downtown.

With miles of sandy beaches, numerous historic neighborhoods (from Victorian and Italianate villas to craftsman bungelows- check with The Galveston Historical Foundation for homes open to the public), The Grand Opera House and East End Theatre Company, and numerous bars and other venues for live entertainment and music; there are ample opportunities to keep yourself entertained.

Moody gardens for Rainforest pyramid, aquarium, IMAX, and 'Palm Beach'; Schlitterbahn Water Park; Golfing; Deep Sea Fishing expeditions; Harbor Tours; 'Duck Tours'; Segway Tours; Bicycle rentals... or just lay out on the beach and relax!
