Experience the sights and sounds of California’s North Coast from the comfort of our vacation home. Breathtaking views of the rugged coastline and Battery Point Lighthouse will inspire you. Enjoy birdwatching and observe Gray Whales spouting during their winter migration. Delight in the sounds of barking sea lions, crashing waves, soothing surf and fog horn. Experience this and more from our upstairs observation room and bedroom.
Spaciously designed and comfortably furnished, our two story vacation home features an open floor plan with vaulted ceilings, a large combination kitchen/living area, two bedrooms, each with a queen bed, two bathrooms, and an observation room. A freestanding gas fireplace in the living room adds to the warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Conveniently located one-half block from easy beach access, a spiral stairway takes you to a picturesque beach to explore tide pools and beachcomb. Historic Battery Point Lighthouse, a few blocks away (from the beach or the street), is accessible during low tide and has tours available, giving you a rare glimpse into the daily operation and history of an active lighthouse.
The Lighthouse View Vacation Home is an ideal home base to explore California's North Coast, Redwood National and State Parks, the Smith River National Recreation Area, and other scenic wonders in this beautiful area. Or, just sit back, relax, and enjoy the view.

Beth and Clarke are the owner's of the Lighthouse View Vacation Home. We have lived in this amazing area for more than 35 years, are avid hikers and have a passion for the natural world. Please let us know if we can make suggestions about hikes that you may enjoy or places to visit. Clarke has hiked many of the back country trails and is a wealth of information, both about the trails and the history of the area.
Beth Moore purchased this house in 2000
We both fell in love with the beauty of Del Norte County... the redwoods, the ocean, the Smith River, and the mountains - what more could we ask for.
Great views of: Battery Point Lighthouse, the coastline to Patrick's Point, the ocean from the upstairs bedroom (even from the bed) and the observation room. Easy beach access one half block down the street. Convenient location to grocery shopping, restaurants, movie theater, city swimming pool. Close proximity to Redwood National and State Parks.
Thanks so much for a great stay at your neat & cozy home. Beth, thanks for giving us ideas for things to do and places to go. Our children loved the house. We will recomend other people to stay here and if we make it back here, we will stay here again. Thanks!
We stayed here with another family. We had a total of three small children under 4. The place was great. We cooked in the kitchen for breakfasts, snacks, lunches, and three dinners. It worked very well. There is a ton! of space in the house. And our families both felt we had a good deal of privacy if we wanted it. The master bedroom is beautiful. The beach is so close (literally, just across the street), and it's close to the Redwoods. Highly recommend this place.
This house was the perfect for our stay. It had everything we needed. The proximity to the Redwoods was ideal. We were able to take a short drive to numerous hiking trails through Stout Grove. The following day we drove south to Newton B Drury Parkway to see more Redwoods. This is definitely worth the drive and the time to take some hikes while there. The beaches along the way are very nice too. The beach by the house is awesome and is only a half block walk and down a short staircase to get there. Lastly, don't miss the Lighthouse tour. You have to go at low tide and they ask for a $3.00 donation but it's totally worth it. We would recommend this house to anyone.
What a warm and welcoming home to spend a long weekend in! There wasn't anything we lacked! The kitchen was unbelievably stocked with everything you could desire to cook your own meals (which we prefer to do when on vacation). The home was spotless and extremely comfortable. We didn't spend a lot of time in the upper observation room, as we were constantly on the beach, which was a mere 1/2 block away, and accessed by a spiral staircase! The lighthouse was easily with in walking distance, and all of the other area beaches with in an easy drive. Every beach we visited offered a wealth of different things to find...sand dollars, agates, drift wood, etc. The redwoods were a short drive away, and well worth the trip to walk among those giants! The only thing I would suggest is that if you didn't want to clean the home after your stay, to pay the cleaning fee. We were delayed in leaving by washing sheets and towels. Otherwise, I can't imagine a nicer place to stay in Crescent City!
Beautifully furnished, clean and well-maintained, this home didn't disappoint! The view of the lighthouse and ocean from the upstairs "sitting room" entertained us in the evening. We opted to eat in the three days we stayed, taking full advantage of the complete kitchen and wonderful décor. This home is centrally located for several day trips to Redwood National and State Parks, up the Oregon coast, Oregon Caves National Monument, Victorian Ferndale and Trees of Mystery! Just a short block from the home is beach access with a charming circular staircase down to the shore. Beth is the perfect owner, responds promptly to emails and was a pleasure to work with! The home was better than it looked online! The Battery Point Lighthouse tour is a must! The keeper, Harlan and his wife were charming and interesting! We will definitely be back! I would recommend this home to my family and friends.
Our family of 4 recently had a wonderful week stay. Beth was absolutely awesome to work with. The home was even closer to the ocean than we expected! Sitting in the observation room was so relaxing. We found everything we needed at this home. We enjoyed the information binder with suggestions for restaurants and hikes!
We absolutely loved our stay at the Lighthouse View Home. The weather was a little cool while we were there, so it was always nice to come back to a nice, warm, comfortable, clean place with all the amenities of home. Beth was wonderful to work with and always responded quickly when we had questions. Thanks for a great week away from home!
