Enjoy birdwatching and observe Gray Whales spouting during their winter migration. Delight in the sounds of barking sea lions, crashing waves, soothing surf and fog horn. Experience this and more from our upstairs observation room and bedroom.

Spaciously designed and comfortably furnished, our two story vacation home features an open floor plan with vaulted ceilings, a large combination kitchen/living area, two bedrooms, each with a queen bed, two bathrooms, and an observation room. A freestanding gas fireplace in the living room adds to the warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Conveniently located one-half block from easy beach access, a spiral stairway takes you to a picturesque beach to explore tide pools and beachcomb. Historic Battery Point Lighthouse, a few blocks away (from the beach or the street), is accessible during low tide and has tours available, giving you a rare glimpse into the daily operation and history of an active lighthouse.

The Lighthouse View Vacation Home is an ideal home base to explore California's North Coast, Redwood National and State Parks, the Smith River National Recreation Area, and other scenic wonders in this beautiful area. Or, just sit back, relax, and enjoy the view.

About Beth Moore

Beth and Clarke Moore are the owner's of the Lighthouse View Vacation Home. We have lived in this amazing area for more than 35 years, are avid hikers and have a passion for the natural world. Please let us know if we can make suggestions about hikes that you may enjoy or places to visit. Clarke has hiked many of the back country trails and is a wealth of information, both about the trails and the history of the area.

Delightful Vacation Retreat

My husband & I chose Northern California as the first family vacation spot with our 19 month old son. In searching for places to stay we came across this little jem. This vacation home is immaculate! Not only is it fully equipped to meet all your needs but the view and the location are both FANTASTIC. The description is accurate and Beth was tremendously helpful each time I contacted her... and prompt as well. Plus, we had the option to clean the place ourselves and forgo a cleaning fee. An amazing option for my thrifty husband & I. :o) I would most definitely recommend the home to my own family & friends. There is a huge play area with slides, swings, bridges, tires, etc just 1/2 mile or so from the house. Along the beach and park near there is a disc golf course which my husband enjoyed. The community swimming pool, Ocean World and Hwy 101 are all super close as well. Plus the Redwoods are right there. I would encourage you to seriously consider staying at this lovely home. It made our stay a true vacation!

A SPECIAL WEEKEND

My wife and I rented this lovely home as a birthday getaway and though the weather could have been better, Beth and Clark's vacation home couldn't have been more special. Wonderful location...excellent kitchen...superb bed...magnificent observation/solarium (so was the sunset Saturday evening). In between off and on rain showers we walked the beaches at Battery Point and Pt. St. George...got lucky at the nearby Casinos...sipped wine and listened to the waves crash,,,it was a special weekend.
A special thanks to Beth for my birthday surprise. Wonderful home - kind and helpful hosts....we will return soon.

Thanksgiving in Crescent City

We were able to get our extended family together for Thanksgiving for the first time in 15 years. Most all or our children and grandchildren were able to come together for a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner. We were all very impressed with the Lighthouse view Vacation home. It was warm, inviting, clean and utterly charming! The access to the beach was impressive (30 sec away) as was the wonderful view. We found the house itself totally set up for our comfort and needs. We all had a wonderful time! We will be returning.

Perfect house for coastal getaway - very close to beach

This house is perfectly located very close to the beach and in a very quiet neighborhood. The amenities are great, with a fully stocked kitchen, games, and lots of tourist information on activities, restaurants, etc. We were going back and forth between staying in a hotel and at this home and we're so glad we stayed in this house.

Great house. Great location. Great vacation!

My family and I stayed at the Lighthouse View Home for 5 nights during the end of September. We absolutely loved the house and the location. The house was very well stocked for our needs. Coming from New Jersey it was quite nice to have the essentials already in place until we could get to a store. Soap, shampoo, laundry detergent and other small necessities that are not conducive to a flight were available. The house itself was very clean and comfortable. We felt like we were home. Also, dealing with the owner was a pleasure. Beth was very prompt in responding to my questions. I found her to be very pleasant and professional.

The location of the house was perfect. The neighborhood was incredibly quiet. This is something that is important to me and my family. We enjoy quiet and privacy. In 5 days I never even saw any of the neighbors. The beach can be reached in under a minute. The views were incredible. Being located in Crescent City meant that everything we wanted to see was less than a 2 hour drive. Two hours north and you are in Port Orford which houses a really cool lighthouse. Two hours south and you are in Eureka. In between are absolutely astonishing redwood trees and trails. The natural beauty of this area was something worth seeing. There are so many things to see in this area that another trip will definitely be necessary. When I return I will not even consider another place to stay. Our thanks to Beth for making this one of the most memorable trips we have ever taken.
