My spontaneous exclamation when the owner of this lovely English basement apartment was giving us our welcoming tour of the apartment was "this is even nicer than the pictures!" The apartment is located in a safe, well-established and well-maintained neighborhood of restored houses on a tree-lined street in Woodley Park (within easy walking distance to shops, restaurants, and the National Zoo). Its private entrance is in the back of the home, through a shaded, carefully landscaped courtyard. (We watched a nest of baby birds learning to fly in the courtyard during our short stay.) The apartment is immaculately clean, beautifully decorated, very comfortably furnished, and more spacious than the photos make it appear. The warm and welcoming owners, Anil and Martha, thoughtfully provided fruit, snacks, and breakfast foods for us so that we didn't need to run out to a store upon our arrival. We are looking forward to returning to this oasis in DC!
Tourists without a Car,
Owner's Response: Hello Sharon: Thank you so much for your kind words. We are delighted you enjoyed your short visit to the Nation's Capital and we could offer that little extra to make your stay a bit more comfortable and homely. Please come visit us again and we would love to exchange some stories about our visits to Tenn. All the best from us.
