Wonderful little place!

We had a wonderful two-night stay at the cabin, which is beautifully finished inside and out, with a fully equipped kitchen (we cooked all of our meals, including use of the oven, stove, toaster, electric kettle--there was also a blender and coffee maker). The layout of the main floor is well done and gives two people plenty of room. We were there at the absolute limits of what the cabin could take in terms of low temperatures--it was in the teens the whole time, which is unusual for Virginia--and the heater strained a bit to keep the place warm, but between it and the fire it did keep up. The hot tub was great--ready for us on arrival and completely fine through the cold snap. The owner answered questions instantaneously via text and voicemail.
The setting for the cabin in a small hollow meant that it was completely private--we could see the lights of another cabin in the distance and one house peeks over the hill, but these both were far enough away that you feel like you're all alone. The deer and foxes that wandered through the hollow in the morning and evening added to the effect!
The road getting to the farm hadn't been regraded in awhile and so involved a range of holes and washboard patches; the driveway down to the cabin had been recently graveled, and so was fine, although do be aware that there is an extremely steep section of the driveway which we just managed to get back up in our car, drawing on our experience driving mountain roads. It should be fine most times of year, but in deeper snow (we had 1-2 inches), ice, or mud it would be difficult. Both road and driveway were navigable in a regular car, but this is something to keep in mind.
Overall this place is wonderful! We recommend it for a quiet getaway.
