St. Mary Cabin Rental Photos and Description
1 bedroom cabin with open kitchen and bathroom, solar power and collected water.
Tranquil Farm is an old farm house hidden away, off the grid, in a beautiful and unspoilt area of Antigua's woodlands. the cottage is in the grounds of the large garden, surrounded by woodland.
The cabin itself is a recently built Caribbean style cottage, and is totally eco, with solar energy ( 110V USA plugs) and uses only collected rainwater. The shower is open to the sky, and the kitchen is open to the garden.
The bedroom is large ( 16 x16) and airy with windows on 3 sides, the door on the 4th wall leads Narnia like through the wardrobe to the bathroom and kitchen. From the netted four poster bed, you look over the balcony and through the garden to the rolling hills covered in lemon grass.
On the balcony there is a large hammock,( there is actually a second one to put up should you wish) perfect for a long lounge with good book - and a glass of wine...or two! We have a selection of books in the cottage and a bottle of wine on your arrival.
At night to sit on the balcony in the candle light, or no light at all and look at the stars.
The kitchen has a table top, 3 burner cooker, and an under counter gas fridge. There are all the pots, pans, cutlery and glasses etc you will need. The kitchen has no side wall, so the cafe table and chairs are almost sitting in the garden !
The cottage is screened all around, and has screen doors.

About Louise Sandiford
I am from England originally, but have been living in the Caribbean for 25 years.
I run a Production Service Company which assists film makers and photograhers who come into the Caribbean Region. When not filming on location I live at Tranquil Farm with my daughter, dogs, ducks and chickens! I love to garden, I love to read. I enjoy the quiet of my peaceful surroundings.
Why Louise Sandiford chose St. Mary
There are not many places that are this peaceful - if one car passes down the road during the day, its unusual. The sound of the birds and the leaves in the trees are the most prominent sounds - along the odd squeaks of the bamboo groaning in the wind and sounding like an old sailing ship!
Actually I should add a bit about the local wildlife noises - the odd donkey and at night the crickets and tree frogs take over.
What makes this cabin unique
Tranquil Farm has always had this name, the farmhouse is about 100 years old now - and the name still fits it perfectly. The farm house and cottage sit on a small hill inside a bigger valley. The view down the valley is over the top of mango trees and across the valley at the surrounding hills covered in lemon grass.
I first saw the house when looking for a location for filming, it was love at first sight - a small wooden farm house hidden in a circle of trees. It was unique then, and even more so now. I have lived here now for 20 years, and I still love it.
The cabin is in the garden of the old farm house - far away to be enough to be private, but hopefully giving those who are worried about being remote, a sense of security.
