Ballaterson Cottages are situated just outside of Ballaugh village in the North of the Island, only a short distance from the Ballaugh Curraghs, and the Currraghs Wildlife Park with lake/cafe. We support the Welcome Scheme for walkers, cyclists and bikers. The location is outside off the main TT course for enthusiasts of the TT, but far enough not to encounter the noise. The cottages are situated adjacent to the main house, consisting of two x 1 bedroomed cottages ( 5ft beds or singles available) and 1 x 2 bedroomed cottage ( 1 double and one twin , plus an additional double. We have a spare single fold up bed if required. Each cottage has its own private parking space, and outside seating area with views of the garden and mountains beyond. The 2 bedroomed cottage has its own private patio area and garden. An additional pull out single bed can be provided.

The village of Ballaugh is 1.5 miles away and has a village shop providing all supplies, post office, butchers. Nearby pubs provide good food, and Ramsey town is nearby. The coast is about 1.5 mile

CONDITIONS OF HIRE:

1. The hiring contract shall be between the hirer and the property owner and shall be deemed to be the subject.

2. Upon receipt of your booking form and deposit we will confirm by email of receipt. Balance will be due 5 weeks before arrival.

3. On the issue of a confirmation of booking the hirer is responsible for the total advertised price as shown thereon.

4. The booking deposit cannot be refunded.

5. The accommodation is only for persons named on the booking form

6. Baggage, personal belongings and vehicles are at the owners risk at all times

7. In the event of cancellations refund's can only be made if the property can be re-let, late cancellations would make this difficult. Hirers are advised to take out holiday insurance to cover this.

8. The hirer undertakes to keep the premises and all furniture, fixtures and effects in or on the premises in the same state of repair and condition as at the commencement of the holiday and also undertakes to leave the premises in the same state of cleanliness and general order in which it was found. The owner shall be compensated for breakages and damage, which occurs during occupancy (fair wear and tear expected).

9. The cottage is available from 3pm on the day of arrival. Guests are asked to vacate the property by 10am on departure day. COTTAGES ARE NON SMOKING. NO ANIMALS PERMITTED.

10. The owner is to be allowed access to the property at any reasonable time during any holiday occupancy.

Cottage 3 is a fully modern 2 bedroomed cottage conversion. Tastefully decorated and has all modern facilities to provide a pleasant stay for guests. Situated outside the village of Ballaugh, peaceful yet within easy access to all main facilities for shops, and surrounding facilities. The property offers extensive garden facilities and patio area, ideal for children to play safely as there is no main road access.

Beautiful cottage set amongst stunning scenery

What a find. Location superb. Every modern convenience catered for.
Georgia was helpful and informative . She set us on the right track for all lovely walks, one recommended by her was through the Curraghs where we were lucky enough to see Wallabies.
We are back there this weekend and can't wait.

Idyllic peaceful stay at Ballaterson Cottages

Had a fantastic stay in Cottage 3 (the 2 bedroomed cottage). Georgina is a great host, extremely helpful & nothing was too much trouble. The kids loved the garden to run about in & were delighted with the indoor & outdoor toys.
The cottages are in an idyllically peaceful location in the North West of the IOM. The sun shone & the only noise we could hear was the wind. It was truly peaceful. The local village is a very short drive though.
We will be back again as we ran out of time to explore more of the IOM & will certainly be looking at staying here again.

Comfy little getaway in a quiet setting

Our cottage here at Ballaugh was perfect for our needs. 2 bedrooms, a nice kitchen and eating area, and spacious bathroom was perfect for the 4 of us. It is an easy 10 minute walk to Ballaugh Glen, where you can pick up some groceries or grab a quick meal and beer at the Raven. Our host, Georgina was so helpful and friendly and quickly felt like an long time friend. She was quick to point out sites we should see, directions how to find things.
The cottage was well appointed, clean, and modern, and equipped with just about everything you would need. Wifi was spotty at best, but Georgina was gracious enough to allow us to sneak into her back yard to get signal.
So whether here for the TT or just for a vacation away from the crowds, I highly recommend the Ballaterson Cottages. I would stay there again in an instant.

Very clean comfortable cottage, greeted by the owner who went out of her way to help. Very well equipped. Great walking nearby, good food in the friendly Raven Pub in Village of Ballaugh, situated on the TT course. Highly recommended, place to stay.

During TT 2012

We were for two weeks in the cottage 2 and 3. Everything in the house is like you see it at the pictures. The house is ca. 20 min by foot outside from Ballaugh and 30 min from the coast. It lies in a wounderful countryside with a great view to the mountains. In the cottage is everything which you need for a comfort stay. Everything was clean and the service around the cottage was great. If we had questions or problems Georgina was very helpful. For my friends and me it was not the last time that we were there.

The properties are situated in the countryside, yet with easy access to main roads and the famous Isle of Man, TT course,

surrounded by beautiful country side, and within close proximity to the Ballaugh Curraghs, with some great views.

Ideal for, walking holidays, cycling, and enjoying the countryside and wildlife.

The sea is never far away and there are boat trips to the Calf of Man, around the Sound and Peel, where you can see seals and basking sharks at certain times of the year at the Calf of Man. Take the many footpaths for spectacular views.

Go fishing with a temporary permit at the many reservoirs. Peel and Port Erin in the South have some lovely sandy beaches for children, and there is the lake at Moraugh park in Ramsey where children can take out paddle boats, there is a childrens play area,separate water fountain, tennis courts and two cafes. Visit Peel Castle and take a walk round Castletown and its harbour.

There are also 6/7 golf courses.

Other Activities: Diving and windsuring are about 30mins away

Golf: The island is blessed with 9 good golf courses, the nearest being in Ramsey and the rest scattered around the island.
