Photos and Description of the County Cork vacation house rental Popular house near picturesque harbour

A brilliant house for a family holiday within easy access of the seaside and sandy beaches. Simply furnished with pinewood floors the house is light and airy and set in its own grounds just a a five minute walk from the village. Private but not remote the house has a good view across to the village and the spire of the local church. The garden is a natural rockery interspersed with shrubs and grassy areas. Well off the road and gated it is safe for small children. The decor is modern but the atmosphere is that of a cottage. A good central heating system and open fires makes it a great choice for a winter break. The village is lively in the high season but slips back into a wonderful West Cork tranquillity in the Spring and Autumn. Not much happens in the winter except the tide comes in and the tide goes out - many people find that is just what they want in this busy 21st century.

Lordan's Cottage is at the edge of Goleen village, around the corner from the small picturesque harbour and the sea food restaurant at Heron's Cove. A gentle walk in the evening will bring you to the restaurant, bars and other village facilities. The last village on the Mizen, Goleen is near the sandy beaches at Barley Cove and a short drive from the waterfront hamlet of Crookhaven, a well known landfall for Transatlantic sailors. The village is lively in the summer months with its own festival and a regatta at Crookhaven. A fifteen minute drive will take you back to the fashionable village of Schull and the quiet roads will take you to Bantry or Skibbereen for golf, or a wooded walk in the national park at Glengarriff. There are more restaurants and bars in Schull, along with a sailing centre, kayak and diving schools. The area is regarded as some of the finest sailing waters in the world.
