Charming modern concrete home nestled into the palms with tile floors, granite counters, and deep mahogany woodwork. Master, living, and modern kitchen open to the Carribean with large sliding doors to the large deck, plus screened porch for night time enjoyment. 2nd bedroom view is beautiful coconut palms. Loft sleeping room is open to the roof deck and its sweeping views of the ocean and jungle. Two in-home bathrooms are stylish w/ over sized showers. There is a beach bathroom and outdoor shower also.
Casa Blanca Caribe was designed as a stilt home to provide amazing views and cooling breezes year round. It is a new home with a clean uncluttered feeling. The lot is deep and full of huge coconut palms, so there is no noise from the beach road, only the sounds of the surf, breeze, and birds on Sapphire Beach. The sea in front of the home is a gradual drop to the reef system. Free of turtle grass, the sandy bottom and waves are perfect for playing in the water
The property has a beautiful beach with only a few beach combers passing by each day.. You'll have the beachfront and the reef nearly to yourself. Casa Blanca Caribe is located on Sapphire Beach - arguably one of the most beautiful beaches on the Costa Maya with wide sandy beaches. Walk for miles or visit the tidal pools and discover all the shells.
Tired of diving, snorkeling, or fishing? Within an easy and safe couple of hours of driving, visit numerous Mayan archeological sites scattered throughout the countryside, the famous Bacalar Lagoon, Cenote Azul, and Spanish fort. Drive to the Belize border, or visit the museums in Chetumal, or hire a small boat to take you on sea cruise thru the reefs from Xcalak to Chetumal Bay’s Bird Island. Drive north to take a guided tour into the Sian Ka'an Biosphere, or visit the bustling area of Tulum. Or just drive 20 minutes into our quaint town of Mahahual for relaxing fun and food.
We loved staying here! Everything you would need for a great stay was provided: a beautiful beach, tranquility, comfy beds, coconuts, and most important, no alarm clock! The ocean breeze swept through the house keeping temps perfect and the view from the rooftop deck made it hard to leave. The house felt very safe and the few neighbors in the area were friendly and helpful. We'd go back in a heartbeat!
My wife and I stayed at the Casa Blanca Caribe for one month and laying in the warm crystal clear waters was a wonderful daily routine. The owners were extremely attentive to our needs and the communications before and during our stay couldn't have been better.
The house is very comfortable and we were occasionally greeted by local fishermen who would sell us part of their daily catch (including Caribbean lobsters). The property surrounding the house is very clean and the trees are loaded with coconuts which we regularly opened. The sea is only steps away so we were in heaven for the month we stayed here. (our dog loved it too.)
There is only one downside, they say they have internet service, and yes they do have the equipment but.... it seldom communicates with the Internet in any meaningful, useful way! Very frustrating
This house was everything that is described here and more. It was exactly what we needed in a vacation and an escape. The drive from Cancun Airport (4 hr) was easy and safe.
We enjoyed walking along the desolate white sandy beaches in the morning with our coffee and spear fishing from the kayaks in the afternoon. The snorkeling along the reef was very convenient and fun.
The town / beach of Mahahual (20 mins away) is worth visiting and exploring but it is very small and does not need more than an afternoon.
Everyone at Mayan Beach Garden Resort down the street was great and very accomodating to our requests. Our only complaint was that we could not stay longer.
We had a wonderful week long stay at Casa Blanca Caribe. We drove from Cancun in an easy 4 1/2 hour drive. Marcia at Mayan Beach Gardens gave us the keys and showed us around and was very helpful. The house is beautiful and well-maintained. It is a solid 30minutes away from the actual town of Mahahual so don't go there if you want night life and expect to run in all the time. But we were looking for something quiet and off the tourist track and this was perfect. The beach is beautiful and great snorkeling and swimming is right there. We visited Mayan ruins, went kayaking off the beach(kayaks and life jackets supplied), went into the Sian Ka'an eco-preserve, spent a couple days fishing with a local guide and also did a yucatecan cooking class at the nearby Mayan Beach Gardens. We were sorry to leave.
The solar powered electricity is a marvel--the generator started up once automatically while we were there but otherwise solar power was all that was needed. Wifi worked great, no issues at all. The water is collected from the roof and used for everything except a separate tap for bottled water--all worked without a hitch. The house catches the ocean breezes so staying comfortable was not an issue even though there is no AC.
Would happily go back again.
Great property, well off the beaten path.
If you're looking for a wonderful place to get away from it all, this is the place. Clean, well designed and comfortable with room to spread out and relax. Neighbors are friendly and very helpful.
This is not an area for spring break partiers or nightlife, town caters to the cruise ship crowd with a variety of restauraunts and shops, fishing and dive operations. Town pretty much closes at sunset, is a long trip for anything you may have fogotten and so you really need to plan carefully, but the beach, the reefs and the generally unspoiled nature of the area make it well worth the trip. Sea kayaks were lots of fun. Great snorkling a short walk (or along swim) away.
Close to Sain Kan bioreserve, Banco Chinchoro marine sanctuary and a variety of Mayan Archeological sites for some day trip possibilities.
Highway out to Mahahual (307) is really in good condition, so the drive from Cancun is easy to do but not advisable after dark.
Tulum is about the halfway point & a good spot to spend a night, do most of your shopping on the way out & arrive in daylight hours.
We are the kind of travelers who like a more solitary vacation spot - with a preference for immersing ourselves in our surroundings at our choosing. This house was perfect for that. It is roughly 22-25 minutes from Mahahual. It is close enough for the odd grocery run, or trip to Chacchoben (60 miles away), or Xcalak (also an hour).
We had lots of space, quiet and beach to ourselves. Our young child could play on the beach, build sand castles or swim with us. The kayak was fantastic, as well. We did a lot of walking - saw lots of shells, crabs, and other sea life. There is also a small tidal pool area just 5 minutes south of the house. The serenity is unbeatable. At night, the stars are worth watching without light pollution. You don't often see them so clearly. It was also great to be able to go running (going north) every day along the road behind the house.
The house itself has the comforts of home, but mindful of the Mexican environment. It makes use of solar and wind power - and kind to the water supply. We cooked all but two of our meals and had what we needed (having stocked up for food in Chetumal then just buying small things locally).
We had a family of four (grandparent, small child, two adults) and the space was perfect. Two spacious bedrooms, tastefully decorated and lots of windows/doors for the sea air to travel around the house. We slept well with the ocean's sounds coming through the house at night.
All in all: a superb stay and highly recommended.
This area is tropical Mexico at its finest. Sitting on the warm blue Caribbean, and protected by a large reef system, the water and sandy beaches are excellent for all water sports. 20 minutes from our home is the town of Mahahual. A charming Mexican beach town with a very laid back Caribbean feel. Or visit while the cruise ships are in town and visit the pier for a little shopping. Tired of snorkeling, diving, eating and drinking? Within two hours of us, adventures await you with many Mayan archeological ruins, zip line tours, excursions into the remote Sian Kaan Biosphere, the country of Belize, and quaint Mayan villages.
