Loon Lodge is a completely remodeled and renovated home overlooking Mickey Lake, a breathtaking and tranquil no wake lake with easy access to the 2,900 acre all sports Long Lake (with 5 islands) via a channel. A boat launch to Long Lake is less than 3 blocks from Loon Lodge. You can just kick back, relax, fish,watch for wildlife and listen for the loons or adventure out to experience all the wonderful activities the Traverse City area has to offer and you're never more than an hour away from Loon Lodge. Oh, and did I mention that Carol and I just live down the street so we will be there to welcome you whatever the hour of the day or night and to take care of your daily needs.

Loon Lodge is a non-smoking and pet free home (unless the pet lives in a glass bowl. BOAT RENTALS: I have a 4 hp.motor that you can rent for $125.00 a week (with gas) for use with the 12' fishing boat that comes with the rental. I also have a 24' pontoon with a 60hp motor that I rent for $275.00 per day and includes a half tank of gas. You can rent it for the week or multiple days at a reduced rate. I also have two 14' kayaks and a 15' Sun Fish sail boat to rent.

The 4th bedroom is up a spiral staircase leading to the 'Tree House' with it's 2 twin beds and a skylight for star gazing. We have two twin mattresses for childred overflow. b

Beautiful home on placid lake

Our week at Loon Lodge exceded our expectations! Dennis was there to welcome us and show us around and made us feel right at home. We had two young children and I liked the fact that we could watch them from the back deck as they played in the lake. When we went sightseeing we found that we were near to Sleeping Bear National Seashore, wineries and Traverse City. The home was very well equiped and very clean. The kitchen had everything we needed including spices for cooking. We will be back as a family but my next stay will be for a "girl friend's week".

Wonderful Autumn Vacation

The cottage was just as billed and we loved staying in it. It was clean and cozy even though there is lots of space for family or guests.
The smaller view of Mickey lake was one of our favorite things about the stay. Beautiful. It was cool at times, but since we were there to boat and canoe, that worked out just fine for us.
Dennis could not have been more helpful as we had some issues with our boat motor. He and Carol are wonderful hosts. It was really nice meeting them both.

We stayed close much of the time but we loved The Omelette Shoppe, North Peak Brewery, and Boone's Inn. Boat rides on the small and big lake were great and the pontoon boat ride was especially nice. Thanks again. We'll be back!

This home was everything we could ask for. Close to the lake with very few steps down to the clean clear water and sandy beach. Its quiet and peaceful on a private street with very little traffic. The home has all the amenities we could ask for. Everything was fresh, new and clean as a whistle. We loved the fact that Mickey Lake is a "no wake lake" where the kids can be on the water in their rubber boat and not worry about speed boats coming by. It is only a 4 minute boat ride to the channel leading out into Long Lake (all sports lake) where we went exploring its 5 islands. Our kids loved going to "Moomer's"
famous ice cream parlor, just a few miles away. We didn't spend much time sight seeing because the kids just wanted to stay and play at the Loon Lodge. At night we would have a bond fire down by the lake and watched the sun set. It doesn't have air conditioning but all bedrooms have fans and it was very comfortable sleeping in early August. We will be back next year.

Absolutely Wonderful

We had a wonderful vacation in this beautiful home on Mickey Lake. We have stayed on Long Lake in the past but this gave us the best of both worlds. Mickey Lake is so peaceful and we were able to zip right through the channel to Long Lake and its many islands. The house is centrally located to most everything. We enjoyed a few day trips to Sleeping Bear Dunes, Leland and Old Mission Peninsula. We swam and fished almost every day and enjoyed fires in the fire pit most evenings. Dennis and Carol made sure the place had everything we needed and their home is as clean as any place we have ever stayed. Definitely five stars!
