Ocean Creek Plantation Resort: Our kids always look forward to feeding the ducks at the pond on the way to the beach.

We think the best thing about the beach at Ocean Creek is how unique it is. To the south is a residential community known as Briarcliffe Acres. This large community is all residential homes, which means you have a large stretch of beach to your south of about two miles all the way down to Apache Pier. Can you imagine having that much beach to walk on without looming condo towers and rows of rental umbrellas? Did I mention how great the shelling is on this relatively undisturbed stretch of beach?

Another unique feature of the beach at Ocean Creek is the tidal creek that gives the resort its name. As you approach the beach on your walk from the condo you will cross over a large wooden bridge that traverses the tidal creek that empties into the ocean just to the south. This tidal creek is fantastic for hours of play for the kids.

The Beach at Ocean Creek Plantation Resort: Since it cuts through the beach it creates an area that is like being at the ocean shoreline without the waves. Kids and adults alike use it as a lazy river and smaller kids spend hours playing on the sandy banks while Mom and Dad are relaxing. Kids also enjoy netting tiny fiddler crabs and fish on the opposite shore. So there's so much more to do than just building sand castles every day.

If you want the sun and beach breeze without the sand then the beachside pool is perfect for you. Not to mention there's also a beachside bar that can keep you hydrated and fed. In the summer there's usually a DJ to keep things lively and Ocean Creek has a team of people who put on events for the kids. Kids can swim, use the playground, sign up for arts and crafts, nature walks and beach soccer games. Again, there's so much more to do at 'Lodge by the Sea' than just sit in a chair with your toes in the sand.

North Myrtle Beach: But if that's your pleasure then enjoy beach chair and umbrella rentals or bring your own. You have lots of beach to choose from to find you own private oasis and waste the day away raking your toes through the white sands while sipping a frozen drink from the bar. The surf varies depending on the weather pattern so each day is like visiting a new beach. We've seen surf competition quality waves and on other days just enough sound of breaking waves to put you the sleep. But in either case, don't forget the sunscreen!
