Photos and Description of the Reno vacation house rental
2 bedrooms, 1 bedroom/studio, 2 full bathrooms, sleeps 6

Casa Elefante, a delightful 1677 square foot 1930’s Spanish Colonial bungalow, with 2 bedrooms,1 bedroom/studio, and 2 full baths, is located in the Old Southwest neighborhood of Reno. It’s just five minutes from downtown casinos and restaurants, as well as neighborhood cafes and wine bars. The Truckee River and Kayak Park are a short fifteen minute walk away. The bungalow has the original hardwood floors, except for the master bedroom which is carpeted, and a beautiful barrel ceiling in the living room. The home is graciously furnished with many antiques from around the world, including a wonderful elephant collection (hence Casa Elefante).

The master bedroom has a queen size bed and the second bedroom has a full size bed. The studio/bedroom, off the master bedroom, has a twin size daybed with a trundle. The main bathroom, with original tiles, has a separate shower and alcove tub (deep and long enough to stretch out). The master bath has a shower/tub combo and dual vanities.

The fully stocked kitchen has a dishwasher, coffee maker, microwave, and full size front loading washer and dryer, as well as other small appliances. There is a bright, cozy breakfast nook in the kitchen, as well as a formal dining room off the kitchen. For outside dining, there is a gas grill on the private backyard patio and seating for eight.

Amenities include refrigerated air for summer, pellet stove for winter, free wireless internet, printer, stereo, DVD player, Ipod docking station, and televisions in all bedrooms. Extra linens/towels are readily available if needed. The house has an electronic keyless entry. This system is easy to use and eliminates any potential problems with lost keys.

Activities, besides the casinos, abound in the Reno area. Incline Village, on Lake Tahoe, is approximately thirty minutes away via Mount Rose Highway. The beach at Sand Harbor is an additional fifteen minutes. You can rent a boat or Jet Ski at Zephyr Cove, as well as book a lake cruise. Hiking trails are found throughout the Mount Rose and Lake Tahoe area. A bit closer to home is the beach at the Sparks Marina. A golf course is just five minutes from Casa Elefante. You can be as active – or as lazy – as you want. Casa Elefante is a comfortable and relaxing home – one where you will be sure to enjoy your stay.

Please note that smoking is not permitted in the house. Pets may be considered with additional fee. Two night minimum stay.

Charming Bungalow in Old SW Reno

This is a charming Spanish Bungalow that is even nicer than the pictures on the website. It is in a great location, very close to restaurants, coffee shops, casinos, etc., although it was too cold to walk to anything at this time of the year. Everything was very clean and tidy. We loved all of the unique treasures displayed from the owner's travels. This was also a great location for our elderly, arthritic dog as there were minimal steps and a very nice backyard. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone staying in Reno. I would stay in it again myself if we were not moving to Reno ourselves.

This house was much more lovely than the pictures! We all enjoyed our stay and the location too. Several members of our group even walked to the riverpark and downtown! Lots of nearby shops and not too far from airport either ! We were also pleased to see the kitchen was well stocked with essentials because we had to prepare a couple dishes to take to the family's Thanksgiving dinner in Sparks! Also it was great there was off street parking and even a yard! You can't find that in a hotel! Thank you for a lovely stay and attention to all the details! We appreciate the quick replies to any of our question too!

Every detail is well considered in this lovely bungalo. The home is so comfortable (especially the beds!). The private backyard is a real treat to get away from the hussle and bussle of downtown. Amazing restaurants are within walking distance through quaint neighborhoods. Every amenity is provided. It was a lovely stay. I hope to return to enjoy this home and its warm hospitality again one day soon.

Wonderful Home in Old Southwest Reno

We rented Casa Elefante for three months, Jan-March 2012 to escape the MN winter. The photos are true to how beautifully decorated and comfortable this home is! We wanted to be near downtown, near local hiking and the airport. This location met all those needs. We walked everywhere! There are wonderful, ethnic restaurants all within a mile walk from this home. We also drove only 3-4 miles to some great hiking trails surrounding the Reno area. In addition, the home did not lack for anything-good internet, comfy beds, nice sharp knives, all the cooking utensils we needed for 3 months. There wasn't a single thing to complain about. The owners were very responsive and easy to communicate with via email. This home is ideal for a long term stay or a week vacation. We loved it!

We are glad that our home met your expectations and allowed you a comfortable stay in Reno. Like you, we thoroughly enjoy all the outdoor activities available in the area. We hope you keep us in mind for your next visit to Reno. Thanks for your kind comments. Barbara and John
