Best vacation of my life!

Just returned from a short holiday in Andros. Wish we had more time. First time to Greece and after business in Athens needed a close island destination. Andros was perfect. Two hours on the ferry (crowded due to hte holiday weekend- Holy Spirits Day- we did not know!) But all of the tourists were European and so it was exciting for us Americans. We stayed in Batsi- the most magnificent town. A cove of beach, restaurants and small shops. So easy. We stayed in an incredible place- its called Nora-Norita just up the hill from the town. Each room or studio has an incredible view of the beach below and the town and a private deck!. It is breath-taking and so inexpensive! Yiannis who runs this place could not be sweeter. He picked us up at the ferry and brought us back at the end of our stay. Our unit had a kitchenette, a great bed, smal lr and a deck to die for.It is so clean and fresh and comfortable. It was only 40 euros a night. We worried that something must be wrong with it- but it was the nicest place we have ever stayed- amazing! We went to the beach across the road and floated in crystal clear water for hours. Ate beautiful meals in the town restaurants. Wanted to rent a car or moped but all taken due to the holiday so we took the public bus to Chora which was a great adventure. In Batsi go for a swim in the pool at Villa Rena's. Rena and John welcome anyone and the pool is delightful on a hot day. Support them by having a drink- I had a cold beer- Mythos- and I don't usually drink beer- but it was sooo good. They showed us pictures and we enjoyed an afternoon visit with them at their bar. A priceless Greek vacation all in all. We reached Nora-Noritta thru the UK Holidays website. This is a once in a lifetime-or more if we can be lucky enough- trip to take! One for the "bucket list" for sure!
