Beautiful and clean vacation rental

We arrived in the evening, and had no problems getting in- Sherman was very responsive and helpful! He was always accessible when we had questions. We were 6 young adults, and the house had plenty of room. We were provided with two parking spots (one garage and one on-street). The kitchen was well-stocked and quite big as well. Everything was clean and new. The two large bathrooms are especially lovely, but the whole house is beautiful. We were very happy with the house! Only cons have to do with the surrounding neighborhood- see below.

The cons:
- very loud in the front bedroom and living room on some nights- traffic and construction in the street;
- not easily accessible by public transit. the closest metro is a good 15 minutes away by foot, and the walk is in a very high-traffic, few pedestrians area. very few bus routes nearby. ultimately, we would walk through the nice neighborhood to the shaw metro, or drive.
- nothing to do in the immediate neighborhood (some small restaurants, cafes nearby, but nothing to spend the day)

The place was nice, but the location was inconvenient. We did not receive our deposit back and did not receive an explanation. I parked the rental car on the street and the car was towed, this added two $200 parking tickets plus two $35 processing fees from the rental car company to the trip ($470 total). Sherman did come over to help me find the car after it was towed. We forgot to return the parking pass, maybe this was why we did not get the deposit back. However, I never received a response to my email. This would be a good place for adults or families with high school kids who can handle the slightly long walk to the subway, not good for someone with a rental car or people with small kids. If you don't mind riding the bus, there is a stop on the corner. The property is located just on the edge of a nice section of town. If you walk one way, it quickly becomes much nicer and vice versa. Sherman was very nice and helpful, but returning the deposit would go a long way to detract the parking tickets:-(

Property was exactly as described. Unit itself was very clean. The photos are accurate and the owner was very easy to deal with and was very accomodating. The location is good as far as being close captial hill and the mall area. You are only about 2 miles away from this area.

Rhode Island Ave is a busy street, so there is a lot of street noise. All though it's a reasonablely safe neighborhood, you might think twice about walking around after dark. My family used it as a place to sleep, and as a jumping point to other places. For that it is an excellent value. Has its own garage which is great.
Recommended for:  Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers

House was well done and very clean. As per email correspondance, someone assigned by Sherman was waiting for us to hand over keys and do a walk-in. Sherman came by the next day. There were lots if utensils and even some groceries (Bottled water, sugar, spices..) in the kitchen. All of the appliances and utensils were clean.
