Overall fantastic place to stay. House was large and open concept - very clean. Beds were comfortable and so much room.
If we go back to the keys, we would definitely stay here :)
PS> the neighborhood is also great with very nice people all around us
We recently returned from our Spring Break at KCB. I have to agree with all the other reviewers on this property, loved it! It was nicely furnished and had everything you need. The neighbors were very nice as well. We hadn't been there 15 minutes and we made friends with a couple next door who invited us on a boat tour around the island. We also enjoyed talking with the other neighbor who is a fishing charter Captain. Our 13 year old daughter made friends with his cat Cheecho. The girls went shopping and I went shark fishing one of the days going 4 for 6 on Blacktips , Bulls and a Nurse Shark. Visited many local attractions and enjoyed them all. Our last day was spent at Sombrero Beach and we were treated with 8 manatees swimming past, 75 feet from the shoreline. We would not hesitate to stay here again if available next time.
Just returned from a fantastic week in this home and cannot wait to go back! The house is beautiful...the pictures do not lie! There is everything you could possibly need - kitchen is well-stocked with pots, pans, serving dishes (even cookie sheets!), plenty of dishware and flatware. Linens are plentiful and in great condition. The house was spotless when we arrived!
We declared a TV-free zone for the week and knew with three kids (14, 11 and 7) this would be a challenge. There were plenty of board games to keep us entertained...kids didn't ask once to turn the TV on! :)
Loved the Dophin Research Center and Turtle Hospital (both in Marathon)...kids enjoyed snorkeling in Bahia Honda State Park. Sparky's was voted to have the best key lime pie and Leigh Anne's Coffee shop is worth a visit (or two...the chocolate croissants are fantastic!) Sunset Grill was very good. Even Alabama Jack's (58000 Card Sound Road, Card Sound) is worth a visit on the way in or out of the Keys...great bar atmosphere with equally great food!
Fantastic location. Fishing from the canal was a highlight for my kids. The next-door neighbor Pete couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful...even his cat adds to the charm of this property! Highly recommend this home...we hope to be back soon!!!
We found the house to be everything it was said to be. The house was clean, well stocked with everything we needed. We found Sparky's and Key Colony Inn to be excellent restaurants and being within walking distance was a bonus. We had rented a boat but with bad weather found fishing off the back dock just as good and very relaxing with amenities of house close by. Pete of Native Sun Charters was a perfect neighbor helping my wife out while she was fishing, giving us advice on the boat we rented, giving us bait for chum and just being neighborly. His cat Cheecho was great and his adorable daughter came to visit one night. The grill on deck was convenient, having a garage to get in house dry and having a bait freezer were all welcome additions. We would return anytime we can and would recommend it to anyone.
My husband and I love Key Colony Beach. This was our third year staying here but the first time renting this house. A perfect choice that I'm not sure can be outdone! We wanted something bigger and something wonderful to help our friends celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary who came on this trip with us. We found it!! This home is everything it is described to be and more. It is beautiful, spacious, comfortable, and inviting. It has everything you need for your stay.
The pictures down the canal are exactly what it looks like but in person it is absolutely breathtaking!
We grilled on the patio, ate outside, had our coffee on the deck every morning, you can even do the dishes while looking straight down the canal. It is amazing!
*Kayaking at Robbie's.
*Buying fresh fish from Brutus' fish market to grill or catching your own to eat. We had a standing fishing Charter with BestBet in the Key Colony marina. A great day was had by all of us and Cobia was for dinner!
*Sparky's bar in the marina and Cabana Breezes bar (next door to the Cabana Club)
*In Key West and highly recommend finding Blue Heaven for breakfast or some Key Lime pie.
*You can also charter a fishing trip with Pete (Native Sun) from next door. We enjoyed our week living next door to him, his daughter and the Cheecho the cat!
We had a perfect week and absolutely love this house and would definitely stay here again!

This property is absolutely fantastic! The house is located in the best area of Marathon (Key Colony), and is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. It had everything we needed (full usable kitchen with all necessities for cooking, towels, washer and dryer, blow dryer, etc.) The owner was more than accommodating and I would recommend this home away from home to everyone! My husband and I look forward to staying there again soon.
