Upon arrival in our Jeep, we were warmly greeted by one of the owners Sam, with a traditional island drink and hors d'oeuvres, fresh cut flowers in all the rooms, relaxing jazz music, a breathtaking view of the Caribbean Sea with the Christmas winds flowing through the beautiful home and the soothing sounds of the waves rolling into the shoreline. We settled into our bedrooms and then took a swim in the private pool, had a pizza from East End Pizza, and had a few local Cruzan rum drinks while we relaxed on the veranda-which we did daily. We also had our morning coffee on the veranda while we caught up with the news on our phablets compliments of the high speed internet in the house. We cooked on the gas grill and the 5 burner gas stove, had limes that we picked from the lime tree next to the house, and drank way too much of the locally made Cruzan banana, coconut, raspberry and pineapple rum. We snorkeled in the sea on our private beach with the gear that was at the house and did a lot of swimming in the private pool. Everyday we were visited by 2 small vibrant green Iguana's that live on the property along with lots of cute lizards. Beach towels, tanning lotion, pool toys, bug spray, condiments, soap, shampoo, conditioner, etc...were all provided. The home is beautifully decorated, has comfortable furniture and beds, the driveway is gated and the property is fenced which made it feel like our own secure compound. The island casino is 1/4 mile from the house as well as East End pizza. We had a masseur come to the house one day for massages while we listened to the waves hit the shoreline. There was always a breeze coming through the house and the bedroom air conditioners made for comfortable sleeping. The Reef 9 hole golf course was only 5 minutes away with sea views from the entire course. Downtown Christiansted was only 15 minutes away where we went jet skiing, ate lunch on the waterfront at Angry Nate's and Maria's for Mexican food, did some souvenir shopping and checked out Sam and Ted's art galleries. We had a wonderfully relaxing vacation at Southern Breezes and highly recommend it to anyone thinking about staying there. It is truly paradise. Thank you Sam and Ted for your hospitality and for sharing your beautiful home with us. Mike and Greg.
