Studio, 1 private 3/4 bath with shower, sleeps up to 4. kitchenette, wifi, TV

Holcomb Hideaway has both water and mountain views. 400 sqft guest suite with Luscious Gardens, Hot Tub, BBQ, outdoor patio, and Hammock. Ample linens including white robes and hot tub towels. Kitchenette supplied with dishes, wine glasses, microwave, toaster oven, fridge, BBQ utensils, instant hot water faucet and much More! WiFi, Dish Satellite TV, CD-tape cassette player (yes some of us still use those :)! Queen size sleeper sofa with good mattress. Eating area with table and chairs for up to 4 people. French Doors to Balcony overlooks Lagoon and Bay of Port Townsend.

Guests can look forward to a welcome basket of local fresh bread, crackers, cheese, fresh fruit, oatmeal, and something sweet upon first night arrival. After that, guests are highly encouraged to seek culinary adventures in the local area and farmers market.

About Carol

Diagnosed with breast cancer at age 40 along with 4 other sisters and my mom. Went through a year of chemo in the days when Doctors didn't believe young women got breast cancer! Am also an occupational therapist with a specialty in Hand rehab for instrumental musicians.

Carol purchased this studio in 1998
Why Carol chose Port Townsend

Old College friends bought this property for me and held it until I could pay for it. A great 'drinking story' if guests are ever really interested in hearing this one!

What makes this studio unique

This house is in a residential setting but so very close to local micro-breweries, Fort Worden, golf course and more. The view of the bay is mesmerizing. Lots of Bambi's abound.

Anniversary

This property is clean, peaceful and remarkable. The cottage is small, yet relaxing. I' d reccommend it to anyone wanting to have a peaceful day or two. Great for a honeymoon and an aniversary or a couple of friends or a mother/ daughter wanting to spend some time together.
We were married there 10 years ago and have wonderful memories of our stay. Went back for our 10th aniversary and found it to be as beautifull as the first time.

Owner's Response: One of the nicest complements a hostess can get...a come back couple! 10 years ago, they wanted to get married in Holcomb Hideaway's back yard. It POURED RAIN that day...so they ended up having the ceremony in the owners own living room with a group of surprise guests!!! Hard to forget a day like that. Loved that they came back and were just as happy now as they were then! I hope future guests will know that we really do bend over backwards to provide a memorable stay here!!!..and privacy too!

Great getaway!

We arrived around 10:30 pm and Carol was very understanding (had to wait for 2 ferries). The place was beautiful and spotless. She even left out some chocolates and chocolate covered strawberries! We wanted privacy and we got it! She was kind enough to come in while we were out on the town and clean up after us (sorry Carol! We didn't mean to leave a mess).
When we got back from touring the beautiful town, everything was crisp and clean again. We spent the entire next day in bed until we heard a knock at the door and was asked if we were going to stay another night. We were so comfortable, the time flew by! We quickly cleaned up and checked out by 5pm.
I would like to also comment on her hot tub too. I was not able to enjoy but my boyfriend loved it and said it was very relaxing.
The place was a great getaway for a quiet weekend. I hope we can visit again this summer!

Carol is the hostess with the mostess! The cottage is darling and she hasn't left our a single detail. Lovely , plush, large towels, replenished daily. Bread, cheese, juice, coffee (decaf & reg), fruit...everything for a great start to your day without having to find the local grocery etc. Very comfortable bed with quality bedding and pillows. Holcombe Hideaway is also very centrally located and you can walk to many of the local attractions. We never had the chance to use the lovely garden and spa just outside our very private door but perhaps, next time. Thanks Carol for a comfortable , care free stay and Oscar and Felix say "Woof-you: also.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Pet-friendly, Adventure Seekers, Sightseeing, Romantic Getaway

Everything was just as I expected, well actually better than that!
The owner was there to greet me, and give me a tour. She also left a lovely care package for my arrival in the kitchen.
The guest house was clean, bright and well maintained. The addition of fresh flowers was an added bonus.
I hope I have another reason to visit Port Townsend, I would love to stay here again.

A Beautiful Retreat!

When I reserved this mini vacation, I had no idea I was in for the most relaxing, delightful, one-of-a-kind accommodations and service imaginable. We approached the cottage to find lush plants, flowers, and trees surrounding this charming site. Then, Carol greeted us with incredible warmth and charm - and lots of goodies! She showers her guests with surprises and treats, which is so nice because I have a sweet tooth! She is truly a delightful lady and hostess.
Very clean and neat, and complete with relaxing hot tub and hammock, we felt like we were in our own private getaway heaven. It was just like the photos indicated, though the experience was nicer than I imagined it would be. This trip was for a birthday, and I was delighted I chose this spot. It's become a very special place for us, and we decided to travel back next year for a longer stay. Do yourself a favor, and stay here. You will be happy you did. But don't book our weekend!
