What a wonderful setting!

  • 5 of 5
We felt unbelievably lucky to have booked such a beautiful, well appointed place for our Olympic Peninsula vacation! The gardens and grounds were amazing! Flowers, fruit trees, resident deer & bunnies, and a vegetable garden! And the most amazing view of Vancouver Island and the Strait of Juan De Fuca! I could look at that view all day! The house was spotless upon arrival & very well appointed with everything you could possibly want or need. The washer & dryer came in handy several times. Ginny, our host, was wonderful, bringing us a bag of fresh veggies one night and helping with recommendations in the area. This property is very convenient to the Olympic National Park & Port Angeles is a cool seaport town, with a ferry to Victoria, B.C. I would highly recommend this place! And we will definitely be returning for our next west coast vacation!

I Wish I Could Have Stayed Forever

  • 5 of 5
I was tempted to title my review "don't ever stay here", so that I could always be assured of having this little jewel to myself when I visit the area. My husband and I have rented many houses around the country, but this cottage simply beats them all, hands down. This is one of those places that you would change your travel dates for if it was unavailable when you wanted it.

Ginny and Roger, the owners, have put an incredible amount of thought into making every amenity that a visitor could possibly want available. There was quite simply not a single thing I would have changed - and I'm picky! The cottage is spotlessly clean, well equipped for gourmet cooking, indoors and out and beautifully decorated. Ginny and Roger are gracious and helpful with every request. Ginny shares her bountiful garden with you, so cooking is a joy. The view is spectacular and it is peaceful and quiet day and night, yet only 7-8 minutes from all the necessities of the modern world. The area around the cottage is perfect for hiking and biking.

I could write pages about what we now refer to as the little "Enchanted Cottage". Suffice it to say that I look at pictures of it every day since we've been back with happy memories of the time we had there, and a calendar beside me trying to figure out how soon we can go back! We will never stay anywhere else on the peninsula. Thank you Ginny for being the most gracious hostess ever. You made our trip perfection. Liz and Keith

Doesn't get any better

Doesn't get any better

I read all the rave reviews for this rental and expected a a lovely cottage, but was amazed at how exceptional it was. We have stayed in 20+ VRBO properties--some way more luxurious than this one--but none that were cleaner, more well-stocked or more comfortable. The setting is gorgeous with gardens and beautiful views from every window. The kitchen was well-stocked with lots of extras so we usually ate at the cottage. The bed was a luxurious pillow-top, so we slept like babies after long days of sight-seeing and whale watching (Island Adventures out of Port Angeles was excellent). Ginny, the owner, greeted us shortly after we arrived to make sure everything was perfect--and it was. Hope we can return to this idyllic spot again

Gorgeous Views and the Comforts of Home

  • 5 of 5
With all the rave reviews, we had high hopes, and it didn't disappoint! You have a scenic drive up to the home but once you arrive, you still have great views of the colorful gardens and a panoramic views of the Strait of Juan. We were also greeted by hummingbirds darting around the area.

Once we got into the house, we were still in love with our choice. The home was simply, yet wonderfully decorated, while maintaining a great deal of comfort. After a long day out hiking or whale watching, it was a great feeling knowing we were headed back to that house to unwind. Plus we were able to enjoy gorgeous sunsets either from the back deck or from the comfort of the couch. The house was very clean and adequately stocked with everything you might needed. From laundry detergent to spices, it was nice to know we didn't have to worry about packing or purchasing those items.

We loved the convenience of Port Angeles. There are so many places to explore on the peninsula that it this home was a great mid-point to see all there was to see! We would highly recommend this beautiful location to anyone. And if we ever make it back to Washington, we know where we are staying!

All Aspects Absolutely Amazing!

  • 5 of 5
Everything was absolutely amazing: The view of the green surroundings, the lake and the mountains while looking at a distance, Ginny's flowers, plants and the garden that are around the cottage, the warmth and hospitality of Ginny, the interior of the cottage which nicely combined the rustic and modern elements, the amenities (laundry & extra blanket & kitchen supplies & cooking spices & flashlight & binocular & hiking books), the nature, beauty and serenity in Port Angeles.....everything was absolutely fabulous! We have stayed in several VRBO’s throughout previous years and this cottage is one of the coziest and well maintained little houses! Ginny, by far, is the best owner who is caring and available if you need to contact her for any issues that might arise. If you’re looking for a kind owner, a well maintained, cute-n-lil’ modern-n-rustic house, fabulous cool-n-chilly air to breathe during the summer months, would like to enjoy the fresh greenery and experience the beauty and serenity of your surroundings, then this cottage is absolutely the one for you!
