Just entering this charming, exceptionally clean and well-appointed cottage lets you know this is something special. Nicely decorated with new furnishings, shining corner kitchen, nice-sized bath and spacious bedroom with a comfortable queen bed encased in luxurious linens. The 180 degree view of the Strait of Juan de Fuca, with Port Angeles just to the left, Dungeness Spit to the right, and Victoria BC (lights at night) straight ahead will have you looking outside continually. The grounds outside are a pastoral mix, complete with friendly dogs and the occasional deer or elk wandering by.
Only 10 minutes from downtown PA and close enough to drive to Hurricane Ridge, ocean beaches or beaches on the Strait. The kitchen is great to have, as the restaurants in Port Angeles leave a bit to be desired!
The cabin was absolutely quiet at night, with an efficient heating system we enjoyed when we returned from a cold afternoon on the beach.
It's easy to see why this cabin is booked often. Reserve it now, and enjoy when you visit!!

I agree with all the reviews here, the house is just amazing!!! Immaculate, tastefully decorated, equipped with everything one could possibly need, with comfortable beds, in a very quiet location with great views! I admired Ginny’s beautiful garden with colorful dahlias, fruit and vegetable. She also put some dahlias in the bathroom which was so nice!

Far from all the hustle and bustle, yet close to shops and restaurants in Port Angeles. Perfect for trips to Hurricane Ridge, Marymere Falls, Lake Crescent, Elwha Valley, Pacific beaches, rain forests, or Victoria, BC (by ferry from Port Angeles).

I’m sure you will love this place!

Thank you so much, Ginny! Your cottage is probably the best place to stay in Port Angeles! If only we could stay longer…

Truly a home away from home.

We stayed for seven days! Although I can tell you that the cottage is super clean, well-stocked, and extremely comfortable like many reviewers before me, the greatest compliment I can give is to say that it is truly a home away from home. The cottage is close enough to Port Angeles for convenience, but far enough away for solitude and quiet. It’s a perfect home base for your travels all over the Olympic Peninsula. Each night after our travels, we came “home” to a space that was inviting and warm. Whether we were relaxing on the comfy sofa watching football while enjoying the cool breezes through the open windows or sitting at the dining table staring out at the Strait of San Juan de Fuca while enjoying our self-prepared meal, we always felt like we were home not just visitors in someone else’s space. You will find it extremely difficult to leave -- even for a day trip!

Although the kitchen is perfect for meal preparation, there are many dining options if you don’t wish to eat in. Besides good coffee, the Olympic Bagel Co. has wonderful bagels as well as pastries. If it’s cold and rainy, try the homemade mac & cheese with beef tips and a regional brew at the Next Door Gastro Pub in downtown Port Angeles. The Hoh Rain Forest is a true day trip, so you’ll want to pack a lunch. However, you might consider adding on a short trip a little farther down the road to see Ruby Beach and eat fish and chips at the Kalaloch Lodge. For a lunch outing, stop at the Lake Crescent Lodge. You can almost imagine President Franklin D. Roosevelt enjoying a local brew in front of the grand fireplace. Go canoeing or kayaking if you dare in the super deep, but absolutely gorgeous teal blue lake. If you visit Hurricane Ridge, pack a hearty lunch and drive past the visitor’s center (and all the tourists) to the picnic area ½ mile farther. It’s less populated than the main trail and the views are spectacular.

Ginny and Roger are excellent hosts – available but appropriately absent. Although we didn’t get to meet Roger, the time we did spend with Ginny was amazing. It was great to talk about our Texas connections while we played ball with Yuma & Sara. Ginny is truly a renaissance woman with impeccable taste, a very green thumb, and a warm, welcoming way about her.

We can’t recommend this cottage enough. Words and pictures just don’t do it justice. We miss it already and look forward to returning.

My husband and I stayed in this lovely cottage right outside of Port Angeles for four nights. Everything was spotless, organized, and stocked with the basic necessities (condiments, tea, coffee, sugar, etc.). The cottage has an amazing view and on a clear day you can see across the water to Canada. There is so much to do on the peninsula including The Olympic National Park's many entrances, the famous lighthouses, ocean activities, and festivals in any of the towns (all of which can be found in the helpful guides tucked away in drawers or baskets in the cottage). We helped ourselves to some strawberries in the garden and admired Ginny's beautiful Dahlia's along with other beautiful foliage. Will definitely recommend to anyone looking for a getaway or vacation!

Car: recommended

Our location is ideal for those who want to take advantage of the Olympic National Park. Our central location makes for easy access to hiking trails and beautiful park features such as the Lake Crescent Lodge, Marymere Falls and Sol Duc Falls west of Port Angeles. East of us at an equal distance are more trails into the park and the national forest. For those who are interested in traveling to Victoria, B.C., the ferry service is a 20 minute drive from the cottage. Grocery stores, restaurants and movie theaters are within a 15 minute drive of the cottage.
