Easily one of the nicest rentals in Vieques

Banana Wind is a beautifully constructed property in a prime location on Vieques. It is more beautiful in person than the pictures. We loved the chef's kitchen with Wolf range. Most of our meals were prepared at the house and it was lovely to have such a nice range, grill, and dishwasher. The full size ice maker was priceless for loading the cooler for the beach & cocktail hours afterward.
Especially nice was the location - close to Esparanza and Isabella Segunda. Last year we stayed in Bravos de Boston and got tired of driving through Is II to head to the beaches etc. The sunrises from the rooftop patio were amazing.
Nothing in Vieques is perfect, including Banana Wind. The island was pretty windy the week we were there on the beaches, but it was terrifically windy at the house. Two nights there were major windstorms that disrupted our sleep. Half of the days during our weeklong stay it was too windy to lay by the pool. Also, the pool is shaded and not heated. We were in it twice the whole week, compared to several times a day at the sunnier pool we had last winter.
I still give it a 5 star rating and hope to return. The beautiful construction, chef's kitchen, 3 levels, indoor gathering space, central sound with Sirius, large TV's in the bedroom, put it above other Vqs rentals. Also, if you have stayed at the Hix House you will love this place.
Families with Teenagers,
Owner's Response: We appreciate the 5 star rating and great review! We checked with several people on VQS about the wind during this guest's stay. We understand that there was an unusually strong and cool East-West Atlantic crosswind on the island that week. Their experience with the wind was not typical, and was a natural event beyond our control.
