2 level house w/ separate apt. entrances, can be rented separately or together

The APT. UPSTAIRS: most ideal for 2 couples; bdrms give privacy w/ AC; mster bdrm looks to ocean; kitchenette w/ all you need + mircowave & full size frig; living/dining rm is cozy and allows you to dine looking out to the ocean and chatting with your friends. You can move out to the balcony and enjoy your AM coffee and/or breakfast. APT. DOWNSTAIRS has full size kitchen w/ island, living room, generous bdrm with queen & single beds. Up or Down, lounge away the morning as the white tail-cliff dwelling birds and pelicans soar at eye level. During Feb.& March, if you're patient, you may see the whales migrating north not far off shore. A bonus-no mosquitos as you and the home are high up & with oceanbreeze!

Either UP or Downstairs Apts. can be rented for short stay of 3 days to 2 weeks or if you choose an an extended stay of several weeks or months at significantly reduced rates.

Note under the 'RATES' that the lower APT. which is best for a total of 3 persons is rented at a significant savings.

There are numerous local restaurants & fast foods in the very immediate area even within walking distance. Also Noli Beach just a 5 minute walk away and numerous others from a 5 minute to 30 minute drive away. Both grocery stores and general shopping be it K-Mart, Sears, Wal-Mart, etc, all within 15-20 minutes driving.

Upon making a reservation, we will send you a Word Doc attachment with extensive info about the area as well as driving directions for restaurants, beaches, points of interest, even medical services. From this central location you'll be able to visit the Arecibo Observatory, the Camuy Caverns or go surfing at nearby beaches.

Remember you can fly not only into San Juan Airport (SJU) but also into Borinquen International Airport (BQN) via United, Jet Blue and Spirit. BQN is only a short 25 minutes drive to Quebradillas.

Note: There is 1 HomeAway rental within our 2 fenced acres. You can view it's photos on www.homeaway.com #389420. Even if it is occupied at the time of your stay, there is a significant distance from one house to the other so everyone has plenty of 'elbow room.'

HIstoric Nature of Property & Area: The historic nature of the property adds to one's enjoyment. The photos say it all. The road outside of the property used to be the Spanish railroad right of way where the tracks ran. You can take an easy walk on the paved road in either direction and even talk with the long-time neighbors who have vivid memories of when they were children and would at times sneak a ride on the cargo car to the displeasure of their 'steaming-mad' parents. At the end of HW 113 at the intersection with HW 2, you can lounge in the park (called El Merendero de Guajataca) and take in more of the mesmerizing views of the blue ocean.

Of course you may have a hard time getting away from the balconies of the Upstairs or Downstairs apts. as their respective balconies comfortably sit you right in front of the 200 foot cliff towering above the below ocean. No fear of Tsunamis at that elevation. Marvel at the white tail birds & pelicans soar in front of you at eye level in the am. There's even a stairway down the face of the cliff to the beach below but it's only for the fit to hike back up and remember your descent down is at your own risk. Only those in good physical condition should consider going down and as you can well appreciate, you must do at your own risk. It's a virtual jungle & incredibly interesting with all types & forms of vegetation.

Our HomeAway Vacation home is located in the area of Quebradillas known as Guajataca. The property was actually part of the railroad system built by the Spanish dating back to the 1800s. The house itself is located next to the elevated railroad siding for railroad cars used to transport suger cane. In fact a large rubber tree next to Calle Estacion marks the spot where the weighing station was located before loading the sugar can on the railroad cars for transport to the processing mills. The house sits about 20 yards from the edge of the cliff and from your balcony, living room and master bedroom you have nothing but deep royal blue sea in front of you. At about midnight you'll see the brightly illuminated cruise ships passing on the horizon heading to San Juan, Puerto Rico's capital city. Two lush acres surround the property with privacy. There's plenty of room to walk around and take in the enchanting ocean views. In Feb & March whales migrate a short distance off shore!!!!!

The DOWNSTAIRS is rented at a lesser amt. excluding 9% lodging tax for: 3 nites @ $100 per nite; 7 Days @ $85 per nite = $595; or one month for $1,000.

I have stayed at the this property 3 times since August 2011, and am returning next month. Would not stay anywhere else!!!

There are so many things I love about this property. You can view the ocean from almost anywhere in the house. Waking up to the sounds of the ocean right at my doorstep was very relaxing and serene. The incredible views are priceless. I would wake up in the mornings and sit on the balcony overlooking the atlantic ocean while sipping on my coffee (provided by the owners). After a day of sightseeing or basking in the tropical delights of the nearby beach I would return to watch the beautiful Puerto Rican sunset as it sets off on the horizons -- right from the balcony.

The owners, S. & A. Lara are amazing hosts. Sigfrido, the groundskeeper, is very helpful. Any and everytime I have called upon the Laras and/or Sigfrido for any questions, they have always been extremely helpful.

Hotel rankings go up to 5 stars. I give the Laras' property a 10.

I'm sure Sara would say that the online photos don't do it justice. I have known this property & its spectacular views for the past almost 3 decades and always shake my head in amazement as to its raw beauty. We have had visitors to our HomeAway properties 902853 and 389420 (both within our fenced 2+ acres) from Mayorca (Spain), England, Netherlands, Germany, Canada and of course from Puerto Rico and many different states of the US and all have found it to be quite more than just special. It soothes the soul and provides a unique high-level of tranquility and inner peace. So Sara, we're most happy you're able to come back for a 4th time and recharge your batteries. And to those who stayed with us in the past, we look forward to your return visit. And for those who haven't adventured with us, please consider us for a future stay.

unas vacaciones excelentes!!

Hemos pasado una vacaciones maravillosas en esta propiedad.... realmente el lugar es precioso, tranquilo y seguro, y con unas personas de lo más agradables que nos atendieron en todo momento. Por la noche el lugar se vuelve delicioso, solo se oye el ruido del mar y los coquis cantando, un sonido que invita al relax... la situación de los apartamentos es magnífica , tiene muy buen acceso y a la vez una tranquilidad ideal para unas buenas vacaciones. Las personas que se encargaban estuvieron pendientes de que todo estuviera a nuestro gusto, y lo lograron porque hemos pasado dos semanas inolvidables.... es evidente que es un lugar totalmente recomendable para pasar unas vacaciones en la isla y volver con buenas sensaciones.
P.D. los desayunos en el balcón mirando al mar son indescriptibles!!

Our week here was simply wonderful! The sound of the ocean, the constant breeze, and the views exceeded our expectations. From the moment we drove onto the property we knew that this place was special. Armando and Socorro and their property manager Siegfriedo were delightful and very helpful. They showed us hidden beaches, recommended restaurants, and provided basics in the refrigerator that made it so we didn't have to run to the grocery store that first day. It was clean and neat, as described, and a place that we will definitely return to. We arrived tired and worn out and left refreshed and renewed. We went for long walks on the road that the house is on as well as exploring Noli Beach and other beaches within a 5 minute drive. We also spent a lot of time simply sitting on the balcony watching the ocean.
This place is truly magical.
