Gilbert was very gracious and accommodating through the reservation process, as I was stuck without power for a few hours.
Ken was there to check us into the apartment located above the garage and behind the main house. The property is very well maintained and looks exactly like the pictures. The appliances are top of the line and the amenities are plentiful. Just bring your food and you are set. The proximity to Whole Foods and the Griddle Cafe, made our stay even better. The gated driveway adds to your sense of security and being off the main street adds to peace and quiet. We enjoyed the hammock and outdoor grassy seating area. We will look to stay at either of the apartments on our next weekender trip to Hollywood.
Very quiet location; above garages; behind street-side units; no shared walls; row of trees around perimeter of property on two sides; brick building on 3rd side; hammock, chairs and BBQ in side yard; pleasant & responsive owners; everything clean; appliances worked; extra towels appreciated; loved the bathroom with skylight and view of trees out window through glass shower door; deposit returned next day after checkout; enjoyed browsing through Russian shops and delis nearby; many restaurants within walking distance; carport & garage; gated driveway. Wish there had been a key lock box because it was difficult to predict arrival time. Didn't have to wait though. Whole Foods next door closes at 9 pm, but (by car) Gelsen's is open until 11 pm. and Pavillions is open 24 hours. Convenient for travel by bus with stops every 10-20 minutes. Wifi was good most of the time, but slow sometimes. Very comfortable dining room chairs. The two chairs in living room looked good, but were not very comfortable. The sofa with lounging section made up for this and was very comfortable. The queen-sized beds were comfortable, but were shorter than normal. Overall, we were very pleased with our choice in renting this unit.
This very modern, clean, spacious and beautiful apt is privately tucked away in the back of a large compound with a great backyard, lots of parking, fruit trees, grill, and even a hammock. Whole Foods is literally next door! It's also in a really great and central location right off Santa Monica Blvd. We found it to be a great base for exploring Hollywood, and mostly loved coming back to this relaxing home after a long day. Foremost, Ken & Gilbert are such attentive and caring hosts who went the extra mile to make us feel at home and comfortable. Thanks Ken for patiently waiting most of the night after we had a glitch with our transportation, and for carrying all that luggage upstairs! Both of you are really great people and that does make all the difference in the world. Great experience!
Cannot put our experience into words. We felt like we had recently relocated to a modern and fully appointed home from the moment we arrived. And they have multiple properties! Our stay was as comfortable and accommodating as it was exquisite and exclusive. The attention to detail is unmatched as was the availability of ownership. Speaking of which, Ken is a sweetheart and a doll the same. He kept us stocked up and informed of the surrounding bars/restaurants. This didn't feel like a rental; this was better than a vacation; this was an experience. We felt like a part of the fabric of Hollywood and had visions of entertaining guests and serving designer cocktails a la Laurel Hardware. Remarkable. Impeccable. Off the beaten path. I recently relocated to LA for work. I was not sure where to stay and came across this listing. The images looked fantastic, and there was a Wholefoods next door, which sealed the deal for me.
From the outset, the owners, Gilbert and Ken, did everything in their power to ensure I had a good stay. Boy, did they succeed. Seriously, these are two of the nicest people I've met in LA since arriving.
For example, I had wanted to bbq and had let the owners know. That evening, upon arriving home, there were all these bbq spices and flavorings I needed sitting in a package for me.
The owners also went out of their way to ensure I had the right cleaning supplies to wash my car.
The unit itself is very clean. Extremely modern and the beds are comfortable. Lots of linen and supplies.
The location is great. Safe and walkable. As mentioned, right beside Wholefoods and a number of good restaurants in the area.
Space for parking (enclosed in the yard) is a huge bonus.
I would recommend this rental for business executives and the like. I'll be back.
