Occupying the top two floors of the chalet, with two privately-owned apartments underneath, this stunning luxury self catering duplex apartment is situated on a quiet road on the edge of Morzine. Just 25 minutes walk from the centre of the village, and only 200 metres from the ski bus stop, it is ideally situated for both small groups and families. Access to restaurants, night life and the ski slopes surrounding Morzine is easy, and the chalet benefits from a peaceful location.

Ideally sleeping 8 people self catering, with all bedrooms en-suite and with balconies, this gorgeous chalet was completed in 2008 to a very high specification.

Guests can enjoy breathtaking mountain views from one of the many balconies, or relax in front of the wood fire in the centre of the open plan living area. The interior combines modern luxuries with traditional Savoyard charm, providing a stylish and comfortable ambiance - perfect for socializing after a busy day in the mountains

The apartment:

The four bedrooms are on the entrance level of the apartment. All bedrooms have en-suite facilities and a balcony.

There are stairs up to the stunning top floor, which incorporates the kitchen, dining and living areas plus the pool table.

There are two balconies accessible from the living and dining areas.

There is a secure ski boot room with a heated boot rack close to the front door of the chalet separate to the apartment, where ski boots, skis and snow boards can be stored. This area is ideal for storing bikes in the summer.

The resort in winter:

Morzine is a well-established mountain resort which is ideal for families. Fabulous in winter for skiiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing and walking with its traditional atmosphere and gently wooded slopes and massive ski areas - 650 km of pistes in the Portes du Soleil and a further 120km in the Morzine/Les Gets areas.

Getting there:

Morzine is situated 50 miles/80 kms from Geneva airport.

Driving from the UK is easy and straightforward; we regularly drive and it usually takes nine hours including meal/fuel stops from Morzine to Calais - 540 miles/850 kms - a long way but on quiet roads compared to the heavy traffic of the UK.

We purchased our apartment in Chalet Lucie in December 2010. My wife Sue and I love skiing and snowshoeing in the winter and walking and cycling in the summer; after many years of visiting ski resorts throughout Europe we decided we would like to have our own place where we could stay and our family could visit. We wanted somewhere in a quiet area, big enough for our family, close to the town and the lifts with a bus service so we don't have to drive every day. We wanted easy access to the motorways to enable us to drive from England and close proximity to an international airport. We wanted a resort that offered great skiing but was also attractive in the summer - we think we have the ideal place!

We stay at the apartment several times throughout the year and love being there - it is our second home.

My wife and I often stay there on our own and don't feel it is too big for us, yet when our family visit we don't feel cramped as the living area is so big and the bedrooms all have their own bathrooms.

We looked at hundreds of properties for sale in France before deciding on Morzine. We visited in summer and winter to ensure we would be happy there - we fell in love with the town and the surrounding area. We then created a list of what we wanted when we started to look at properties:

Quiet location

4 bedrooms, preferably with bathrooms

Large living area

Good access to the ski slopes

Parking

Garden area for summer visits

Not too far from the town centre

Separate space for skis, boots, boards, bikes etc

Our apartment has everything on our list, plus it is modern, light and spacious. It is our dream home!

Our apartment is 'upside down' - the bedrooms are on the first floor (2 private apartments are underneath) and the living/dining/kitchen area is upstairs on the top floor. The first time we visited and walked upstairs - wow! We wanted to buy it immediately. I still smile every time I walk up the stairs 3 years later! The chalet is on the edge of Morzine in a quiet area, yet the free bus service takes 5 minutes to reach the town centre - we use the bus regularly.

We also walk into town, especially in the summer when we can walk alongside the river.

I think everything about the chalet was excellent, well equipped, great upstairs space with pool table, great balconies to sit out on, WiFi, great kitchen and large table to dine round.

Morzine is ideally located for access to both the massive Portes Du Soleil ski area with its 650 km of pistes and the Morzine/Les Gets ski areas with a further 120 km of pistes

The Morzine area is ideal for road cyclists, mountain bikers, golfers, swimmers and walkers in the summer months

There is a regular free bus service around the town which stops at the major ski-lifts - Super Morzine for Portes du Soleil and Pleney for Morzine/Les Gets; these buses stop just 200 metres from Chalet Lucie. These lifts are also open in the summer for walkers and mountain bikers

Situated 80km from Geneva airport, Morzine is just 32km and 35 minutes by car from Lac Leman (Lake Geneva)

Morzine has maintained its strong Savoyard character; at an altitude of 1000 m, its woody, hilly environment contrasts with the sheer mountains that surround it. There are several quality restaurants, bars and shops in the town that are open winter and summer

Ski: The Portes du Soleil ski area has 650 km of pistes with skiing for all standards; the Portes du Soleil is accessible by the Super Morzine lift in Morzine, the Ardent lift near Lac Montriond or the Prodains lift below Avoriaz.

The Morzine and Les Gets ski areas have a further 120 km of pistes with skiing for all standards; these areas are easily reached from the Pleney lift in Morzine or the Nyon lift at the edge of the town.

The two main ski lifts in Morzine, the Super Morzine for the Portes du Soleil and the Pleney for Morzine/Les Gets areas, are easily accessible by the free bus service which stops 200 metres from the chalet; the buses run every 20/30 minutes throughout the ski season. The buses also run during July and August

There is parking available at the bottom of the Ardent and Nyon lifts.

Please note this is a non-smoking chalet. There are three parking spaces available for our apartment. This apartment may not be suitable for someone who is infirm as there are six steps to the apartment and a flight of steps between the two floors. There are further steps down to the garden area. There is a designated lockable boot/ski/snowboard room adjacent to the main front door to enable the apartment to remain clear of such items. Please note pets are not allowed.
