This unit is on the first floor of a large ski house, that used to be a barn. The upstairs is unoccupied in the summers and could be added to the rental. It has 3 more bedrooms (2 queens and a bunk room with one bunk bed and one single bed), another fully stocked kitchen and two more bathrooms. Ask for an inclusive quote.
This winter season 2013/14 (Thanksgiving through Okemo closing in early April) the upstairs is rented to an Okemo ski instructor, his wife and their two daughters. So the house has the real authentic feel of a ski house. The hot tub is shared between the occupants of both units.
Some Background: This house has a long tradition in Ludlow, of being a welcoming place to spend a funfilled ski and snowboard vacation. The former owner John known to most as 'JD' was a much loved snowboard instructor at Okemo and rented the house for many years to friends, family and Okemo staff. Sadly John passed away in 2011 and now I, his wife, am carrying on his mission to provide a comfortable place to stay, that feels a little like home and is the perfect place to spend a vacation at any time of the year. I still live in town and if you ever need anything during your stay, just ask.

About Uli Donohue
I grew up in Germany, went to high school in Ireland and to university in Ireland and the UK. In 2009 I moved to this beautiful part of the world before getting married to my husband John. He had bought the property in 1996 as a ski house for himself and his large group of friends from the Boston area. In 2003, John himself moved from Boston to Vermont and started working as a snowboard instructor at Okemo. Over the years this house has accommodated many instructors who worked at Okemo and John known at the mountain and in town just as 'JD' became a much respected member of the Okemo and Ludlow community. The 'Funhouse' became known as just that, a fun house. Sadly, John passed away in November of 2011 suddenly and unexpectedly. I, his wife, am now continuing John's passion and the mission of the Funhouse, to provide welcoming accommodation to visitors intent on experiencing the beauty of Vermont at all times of the year.
