Located near Heavenly Hana on approximately 3 acres... Isolated from the other side of Maui by the famous road to Hana, far from Waikiki, a secluded cottage awaits you. . The Hana Coast is the last undeveloped tropical paradise on Maui. Literally in the middle of the jungle.
This cottage consists of one bedroom, one bath with a fully equipped modern kitchen. The unit has everything you come to expect.. Dish, 40' TV, phone (free to US and Canada), limited satellite internet, without the high rises and traffic you find in most tourist areas on the island.
The cottage is about 25 minutes from Hana, isolated from the rest of the island, it is truly the last undeveloped tropical paradise on Maui. Views of spectacular waterfalls, the rugged Hana shoreline, and some of the best beaches on the island can only begin to describe what awaits you on your stay in Hana.
Come out for a short stay or spend your vacation here, either way you will experience Maui as you have never imagined!
2 night minimum stay.

Regarding the satellite internet service supplied by Starband.net, this is adequate for checking emails, reading news, weather reports and basic internet browsing as the system has limited bandwidth and a usage cap similar to many cell phones. In summary it is not adequate to download videos or upload large files and not good for services such as Skype and Google phone.
This was our third trip to Maui AND staying in Hana for 2 nights each time. This was by far the best location and value for Hana. This cottage and the hosts were perfect!
The location was just a few minutes drive from the Hana highway, which was a source of noise at a cottage we stayed at LAST Maui trip. Easy access with solitude is a bonus of THIS accommodation compared to many we have considered or stayed at in Hana. Maria was great at communicating before, during and even after our stay. She was very welcoming and outgoing, a pleasure to email and talk with, a friend.
We stayed here for our last 2 days on Maui, enjoying the relaxing pace and frequent rain (very soothing and making everything beautiful). It is much prettier and open, with more space from ANY neighbors than in the pictures. This is a real value for a stay in Hana, which we had not expected. The cottage grounds and those around the host's home (which was within sight but far enough away for COMPLETE privacy for us), were beautiful and well maintained.
At Maria's recommendation, we walked (short, easy walk) to the coast from the cottage, enjoying a mix of a few homes among the wild rainforest, with the very exotic flowers grown on plantations of Hawaii growing WILD! We only saw a handful of people, appeared to be locals, all friendly. The rugged coastline and water were comparable to the beauty of the Wainapanapa park that we took a longer hike around earlier in the day.
We appreciated everything needed for the grill being provided (and all other BBQ stuff) because we enjoyed grilled ribs and Okinawa sweet potato salad (the ones with purple and white centers that you can buy in Hawaii). WE also had Braddah Huts excellent tacos (just past Hannah) while watching the surfers just down the road at Koki Beach.
The cottage itself was clean and well stocked as mentioned in earlier reviews. It bears repeating again from other reviews that the bed was SOOO comfortable. WE definitely recommend this stay to anyone wanting to stay in the Hana area. Wished we could have stayed longer.
Maria's cottage was beyond what my boyfriend and I were expecting. It is beautiful and you notice the cleanliness right when you walk through the door! It had everything we needed for our stay. Literally, everything! Beach stuff, cookware, BBQ, cutlery, gas top stove, fridge, coolers, washing machine and dryer, desk, TV, toilettries, and super comfortable bed!! If it wasn't there, you probably don't need it. Maria is an excellent host! She was easy to communicate with & shared her knowledge with us on places to see and go to. She made sure we were comfortable and knew everything about the cottage. It's just past halfway to Hana! I would recommend staying here and would come back again :). Mahalo Maria!
Maria's cottage is in a beautiful, quiet setting. it is tastefully appointed and everything was in good working order. Maria is a wonderful hostess and made us very comfortable. we would highly recommend this place for a peaceful, quiet getaway.
We wanted to spend more time in the Hana area on our third visit to Maui. We spent three days/nights at Maria's cottage which allowed much more time to explore the area, with less time driving. With Maria's advice, we were able to find access to the less marked areas, while visiting her recommended local eateries along the way. Wonderful! What we didn't expect, is how much we would enjoy also staying at the cottage looking at the gorgeous landscape and listening to the birds. Maria has created a real gem! We WILL be back!
