Beautiful, Clean, Safe, Affordable, and Close to Everything!
Never having been to Orlando, I was very worried about getting the right accomodations. I was traveling with my mother, sister, and boyfriend to celebrate my little sister's high school graduation. We had a full itinerary (Disney World, Discovery Cove, and Universal) for our 5-day trip and wanted a place to stay that had a kitchen, washer/dryer, and was safe and clean. This unit went above and beyond my expectations.
I checked around on many different web sites for hotel deals, but never reviewed a place that had consistently good/great reviews from visitors. Until I found the Blue Heron Beach Resort. It's the perfect Orlando getaway.
The location is ideal, close to everything. And it is in a much nicer part of town than many hotels that had similar pricing. I called the number of the renter on VRBO and she was nice and patient with my questions. She spent time making sure I felt like I had made a good decision and helped walk me through how to reserve it online. At the resort, check in and check out were quick and easy, the staff was friendly and made sure we knew where everything was and gave us enough keys for everyone.
The unit is more spacious than the pictures show and the view of the lake is incredible. The beds were comfortable (even the bunkbeds) and there was ample bedding. The kitchen was fully equipped and our needs were anticipated. The bathrooms were big and the water pressure was good (the jet bath was the best after a long day of walking the parks)! The internet was very fast, even though it wasn't wireless. There was plenty of parking, and it is secure and covered. We loved being able to go to the viewing deck and look out at Disney and watch the fireworks.
Our favorite thing was the pool area. The main swimming pool is huge and warm enough to swim in when the sun goes down. The two other pools (one for kids and one for adults) were nice as well. And the hot tub was perfect for early mornings to get ready for the parks.
Overall, I wouldn't do anything differently. My advice to potential renters is this: if the only deciding factor is cost, spend a little extra and stay at the Blue Heron. Orlando is an expensive city, but this unit is not overpriced...you get what you pay for! And we got the family trip of a lifetime. (And on a side note, if you can, check out Discovery Cove, it was our favorite!) Thanks!
