Your bedroom has sliding shoji doors and a very comfortable, queen bed. It opens into a large living room with queen sized sofa bed, and a dining area. My husband, Walter Briant, and I built this home as a very special vacation rental at Poipu Beach. It was built in a Japanese style and is furnished with japanese antique tansus. We built it on our 1/2 acre property at the Poipu Beach resort area but it is on a dead end street so is quiet though very near to all resort amenities.
Pua Hale is a unique one of a kind vacation rental in Poipu. Though near the resort area, it is on a very quiet dead end street and surrounded by a high wall and is totally private. It is a short 5 minute walk (if you walk slowly) from Poipu Beach park itself where people enjoy swimming at Poipu Beach, rated as one of the best beaches in the world. The kitchen is totally outfitted with anything you will need to cook a gourmet meal.
We truly enjoyed our stay @ Pua Hale our new found hideaway. Thank you t my cousin for her recommendations. The Japanese waterfall is soothing and calming. We a both looking forward to retirement so we can spend more time @ Pua Hale. This makes it hard to leave. The geckos "Homer and Misty" are very friendly. Homer especially loves to pose for the camera. We felt just like little kids, we were just fascinated. Thank you also for supplying us papayas from your garden. They were sweet.
Carol Ann, we thank you for creating Pua Hale. Best of luck to you.
We rented this charming Japanese inspired cottage for just over 2 weeks, it is better than described. A very peaceful home away from home. The owner/host were wonderful and made us feel at home, they were a wealth of information and even shared their fruit with us, and gave us a wonderful jar of their honey. The kitchen was well equipped and the added bonus of laundry facilities was great. They had beach towels and wonderful chairs and sun umbrellas- everything you need for a day at the beach. Well located away from the condos felt very private. Short walk to a great beach for snorkeling and turtle viewing. Can't say enough about this spot. Would love to return.
We just returned from a wonderful two-week stay at this lovely cottage on the beautiful "garden island" of Kauai. The location is perfect -- on the south coast near Poipu Beach, where we swam every day -- and within easy driving distance of numerous sights and attractions. The house is charming and comfortable, and our owner/host went out of her way to make us feel welcome and valued -- not just as clients but as friends. We brought our small, well-behaved dog and he enjoyed meeting and playing with her pups. This house had the best-equipped kitchen of any vacation rental we have ever visited...and we like to cook. We loved the balmy temperatures, the star-filled nights, and waking to the golden light of morning and the singing of the birds. We're definitely coming back to Kauai and Pua Hale!
Cannot say enough about the location and the graciousness of the owner. The beach and restaurants are easy walking distance. The neighborhood is peaceful and very friendly yet you are close enough if you want night time activities to walk to. We will definitely be coming back in the future.
Pua Hale was a lovely place to stay in Poipu. The owner Carol Ann is very nice, she had a beautiful bouquet and a bowl of fresh fruit for us on the day of our arrival. The house was VERY CLEAN!!! I was so happy with that! It was set up and decorated nicely, not cluttered at all and there are beautiful pictures from the owner in the house. Everything we needed was at the house, lots of towels, detergent etc. The house is so close to the beach and we walked down every day. I would definately stay here again if we come back.
Near safe Poipu beach, where swimming is delightful, offers amazing views. Very clean and comfortable apartment with all amenities and friendly owner.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Pua Hale. Carol Ann, our hostess, was very welcoming and helpful. The house is comfortable and close to the amenities, yet quiet and private. We would re-book this home if we return to Kauai in the future.
