For Honeymooners, newly in love, wedding on the beach, to outdoor enthusiasts and those just looking to unwind, this special place has been known to make you fall in love and you when the day comes to go home, the joy you find is the memories you created and you can't wait to book your next vacation here, as quickly as you can.
You awake to catch the awesome sunrise, while sitting on the lanai with your cup of freshly brewed local coffee. Contemplating what adventures will we explore today. We start with a stroll along Hanalei Bay for our morning walk, find our favorite cafe's for breakfast or grab some yummy fruit from the local Farmer's Market, to eat at the condo. I also pick up freshly cut Tropical Flowers at the Farmer's Market, to add to all the Plumeria fragrance that embrace our condo.
Further Details: Perhaps some golf today? Snorkel in Ke'e Beach at the end of the road?
Or we pack up our insulated backpacks(provided) with enough goodies to last a full day at the beach, for playing in the surf, paddle boarding or just enjoying the beauty that embraces you. Kids, dogs, adults frolicking in the bay, watching the others strolling along the old Hanalei Pier, taking photos, kids jumping off into the bay, laughter and sounds of excitement abound. Then you look up to this majestic mountain where the crown is always hiding in the cloud, with white ribbons of falls cascading down, against green velvet. You just sit back take a deep breath and say, ''Wow, I am living my dream!''
When you arrive, we get you started with a ''Welcome Package''.
Our way of saying ''ALOHA and MAHALO!''
A personal call to the owner from the guest while staying at our condo: " We wanted to let you know how much we have enjoyed our month's stay at your condo. We travel to Kauai, 2-3 times a year. With one phone call, the management co. was very prompt to correct a sticky slider. We have the same Hawaiian CD's that you have at the condo. It is so nice to have beach chairs to use that actually work. We plan to return in May and hope your lovely condo will be available at the time we plan our return trip. How nice to know that you live in Lake Tahoe! We will call you when we plan our winter vacation to Lake Tahoe, another destination resort we love to frequent!"
I'm not sure why people are rating this a five-star place. It's a three-star place at a three-star price and as such is absolutely fine for the budget traveler. It's not a five-star place at a three star price. If you're looking for a budget place in a good location, this fits the bill nicely. The owner describes it as 'casual' - I would say, old. Let me list pros and cons below so you have a realistic understanding of what you will get.
Location - as advertised, it's on the 15th fairway of the Makai course, with a view of the water. The location is convenient for staying on the north shore and it's pretty quiet. This is the first place I've stayed on Kauai where I did not hear roosters all night long, so that's a plus! Many couples walk the golf course in the early evening, and when the skies are clear, having the fairway just off the lanai makes for great star viewing.
All the stuff you need: the place is well equipped with beach stuff (chairs, mats, snorkeling gear, coolers, beach towels etc.), so you can just show up with your swimsuit and sunscreen and know you've got access to what you need for a day at the beach.
Great Wi-Fi: Although the guest book warns that internet can be spotty, I found the internet connection and Wi-Fi were first rate, fast and reliable.
TV: A perfectly adequate flat screen digital TV if you really must watch TV while in paradise.
etc.: a functioning kitchen with all you need, a grill on the second lanai (although it was so hot we never used it), washer and dryer, plenty of towels
As I mentioned, this is an old unit. That means rusty appliances, mold in the bathroom, carpeting and uncomfortable furniture. Since we don't spend much time in our room, it was absolutely fine for us, but some people might balk at this if they don't understand the ravages of tropical weather on things. You're not going to find granite counter tops and a big walk-in shower here, and you shouldn't expect to.
The furniture was not particularly comfortable. Outside there is one plastic lounge chair and a table with four chairs, so two people can't stretch out at the same time. Same situation inside - one futon/couch and a couple of less comfortable/formal chairs. The bed was okay, nice and firm, but the lack of ceiling fans made it uncomfortably hot in the unit. There are a couple of stand-up fans. When the trades blow it's fine, when they don't it's miserable. No a.c. goes without saying.
This place is fantastic. Great location, great views, and we loved having a kitchen and access to so much beach gear! It was the perfect home base for our vacation adventures. Sealodge beach is a short hike away, and the everything on the north shore of Kauai is beautiful. Really can't recommend this place enough.
We had SUCH a nice week in Princeville. I missed out on this summer recovering from a major back surgery, so this Summer-in-a-week was so appreciated. The condo is well located and has lots of glass to let the sun and ocean breezes in. I worked a few days from the patio and it was about as a good as a work day can get, with the views of the ocean and fairways. The beautiful St Regis is a 25 min walk, and 5 mins away it is possible to walk down the cliffs to the water if you are up for a little adventure. Our typical day started with Hanalei Coffee Roasters or Kilauea Bakery (WOW!), followed by exploring of beaches, or a drive down to the south side of the islands with stops at the Korean bbq in Kapaa (YUM!). We also spent a lot of time on the Princeville walking paths just enjoying the weather. I would definitely love to spend more time here with my wife and family, and the owner is thorough and delightful.
We had a fantastic eight-day stay at your condo! The location, furnishings, convenience, and overall design & style of the condo perfectly met our needs and we immediately felt at home. We were especially thrilled to be lulled to sleep by the refreshing trade winds, and then waking up to glorious sunrises!! Kaua'i is an incredibly beautiful island and the condo provides the ideal homebase from which to fully experience it. Thanks for everything!
After searching the web for 10+ hours, my girlfriend and I happened across this condo and knew it was exactly what we were looking for! The North Shore is definitely the place to stay in Kauai if you are looking to get away from the more crowded beaches & resorts along the East/South. We stayed here for 12 days and took full advantage of everything this condo had to offer - fully stocked kitchen, beach chairs / towels, snorkel gear, body boards, backpack coolers, and of course the lanai overlooking the golf course / ocean. Obviously nobody goes to Hawaii to spend time indoors - but for the mornings / evenings / rainy periods we definitely appreciated the comforts of our temporary home (like a comfortable bed!). I could go on and on about all the wonderful beaches/hikes/activities we did, so here are the highlights: Hiking Kalalau Trail / Waimea Canyon / Sleeping Giant, Hanalei town/bay, Doors-Off Helicopter Tour, Na Pali Coast Snorkel Tour, Kayaking Hanalei River/Bay, Snorkeling at Tunnels Beach, Sunsets at Ke'e Beach, Happy Hour at Kalypso in Hanalei, Fresh Coconuts / Pineapple / Mangos, and of course Red Box movies after those long days in the sun! Stay in this condo and use TripAdvisor for everything else and I guarantee you’ll have a great vacation! Aloha!!!

This condo was everything we hoped for, and more! The view was amazing, and sunrises and star-gazing were beautiful beyond words. It's the perfect home away from home, and the owners really supply it with the amenities you'd love to bring with you, but can't: It has a fully equipped kitchen, comfortable furnishings, and tasteful, welcoming island decor. The stocked beach chairs, boogie boards and cooler backpacks were much appreciated!! The owners were warm and wonderful to work with. We enjoyed dinners in Hanalei, and appreciated the recommendations given by the owner. This visit was for our 21st Wedding anniversary, and we'll definitely be coming back for another celebration soon! Highly, highly recommended (just don't book it when we need it!)
Hanalei Bay is a 10 Min. Drive, Airport is a 30 Min. Drive.
Other Activities: Paddle Boarding, Horse Back Riding, Site Seeing, Photo Opp's., Sun Bathing,Yoga, Zumba, Shopping, Kayaking
Golf: We are on the 15th Fairway of the Makai 'Troon' Golf Course, just went through extensive renovation, reopened in March 2010. We are adjacent to the TOP Ranking Golf Course, the Prince (currently under renovation),. This course is scheduled to reopen, October 2011. Both offer the most spectacular ocean views and views of the majestic mountains with ribbons of waterfalls, falling down the faces.
